How did you meet? September 2012, Kendra’s first semester of pharmacy school, Jonathan slid into her inbox on Facebook. Kendra was new to the area and didn’t know many people. Jonathan used that to his advantage, as well as Kendra’s upcoming birthday as a way to get a date.
Tell us your proposal story. Jonathan randomly took Kendra to look at rings before there was ever a thought of proposing. He found out she didn’t want the traditional engagement ring. Instead, she wanted rose gold with chocolate diamonds. Once he was ready to propose, it wasn’t hard to find the perfect ring.
Jonathan proposed at Kendra’s pharmacy school graduation party. All of her friends and family was coming to town — this was the perfect time. With help from his mother, sister, and cousin; Jonathan came up with a creative plan. He had Kendra’s son go up and give a speech about her. Once her son was done talking, he handed her a big box. Inside the big box, was smaller boxes inside of boxes. In the final box was a pill bottle that held the ring. The bottle read “Take immediately to make me the happiest man in the world. No refills. One dose will last a lifetime.” Jonathan then got on one knee and popped the question!
Describe your engagement session. Our engagement session had 3 themes; College Football at the College Football Hall of Fame, Urban Graffiti at Krog Street Tunnel, and Formal/Night taken downtown. Our shoot gave versatility while showing a small glimpse of who we are.
What did you do on your first date? Our first date was to a hibachi restaurant in Tallahassee named Japanica and to see the movie “The Campaign.” Kendra LOVES candy. Jonathan bought her the expensive movie candy and stole her heart at that very moment.
What’s your favorite thing to do as a couple? Watching football and playing ESPN Fantasy football.
How has wedding planning been so far? Wedding planning has been lots of fun with choosing vendors, decor, and tastings. As time is winding down, it’s becoming more and more stressful.
Tell us what you’re looking forward to most on the wedding day. We’re looking forward to the turn up and seeing our family and friends, of course.
