Kim Kardashian’s wedding takes place today. Wondering what she’ll wear? We already know she’ll be wearing a custom gown by Vera Wang, probably a mermaid shape…and her own newly released, limited-edition scent, Love. (She’s only made 1000 bottles of the fragrance and is giving the first few hundred bottles to her wedding guests.)
What’s more interesting is what her guests will wear. It’s been reported that she has enforced a strict dress code for the guests. According to the Huffington Post, the invite came with strict instructions for guests – they can only wear black or white…no exceptions. A bit dramatic? Hmmm, maybe not…She’s probably not going to wear a traditional white gown, so this is the best way to ensure that no one else steals her shine…just a thought.
So far her wedding has an estimated price tag of $20 million, about a third of William and Kate’s royal wedding. But don’t think the Kardashian family is footing the bill. It’s been reported that Kim’s $2 million ring was provided by Lorraine Schwartz. Also, PEOPLE magazine is paying $1 million for exclusive wedding access. (They’ve already paid $300,000 for her engagement party photos.) The black-tie affair is taking place in a 10.9 -acre mansion in Montecito, California, and will be part of a 2 part special called “Kim’s Fairytale Wedding: A Kardashian Event.” Invited guests include Jay-z and Beyonce, Justin Bieber, Ryan Seacrest, Eva Longoria, Kelly Osbourne, Snooki, Jennifer Lopez, Kanye West and many more. While many of you might be saying, “Who cares about Kim Kardashian?” we’re sure millions will tune in to watch it on E! when it airs October 9 & 10 even if only to see what everyone ends up wearing.

Here’s what our cover girl Lala had to say about her best friend’s wedding:
[pullquote3 quotes=”true” align=”center” variation=”copper”]It’s amazing when you see a friend of yours so happy, (she’s one of my best friends) and Kris Humphries is such a great guy. Him and Melo have [gone] way back as well playing basketball as teenagers. So it’s cool to have like that whole connection and just seeing her in love and happy. That’s all you want for your friend.[/pullquote3]

It’s her wedding, so the dress code is appropriate. It’s no different from friends who’ve had “themed” weddings and asked guest to dress accordingly.

I asked my guests to wear “Evening formal” attire because it was appropriate for the venue we chose. They were all happy to ablige and everyone looked stunning. Kim is going to make an amazing bride and the affair is going to be top notch. Can’t wait to see pics!!

My husband, Jason, and I recently got married and kept it simple. We went with a park location, the Bois deBoul in France and it worked out great and very inexpensive. Kim
