We met at a restaurant during our church’s young adults event on March 11th, 2020. We both started volunteering at our church’s food bank during the pandemic and developed a lasting friendship. At the end of 2022, we started dating, and about two years later we got engaged in January 2024.
Tell us about the proposal.
The proposal happened during a surprise trip to Looking Glass Falls in Asheville, NC. Standing at the foot of the breathtaking waterfall with our photographer capturing the moment was indescribable.
Describe your engagement session.
Our engagement session was very elegant, clean, and centered around a white and gold aristocratic aesthetic. We wanted to hold the engagement session on an estate that offered multiple spaces to shoot so we could have a variety of looks, both indoor and outdoor.
What did you do on your first date?
We went to a Frank Sinatra tribute concert at a classy rooftop under the beautiful night skies in Houston. We followed this with a romantic dinner at one of Houston’s finest restaurants.
What’s your favorite thing to do as a couple?
We enjoy spontaneous adventures like visiting new restaurants, traveling, flying kites, etc. The goal is to continuously bring exciting experiences into our relationship.
How has wedding planning been so far?
Wedding planning has been great. We found and booked our venue during the first two weeks of our engagement, had fun at a few bridal open houses and expos, and enjoyed working with each of our amazing vendors and creating our wedding website. Planning a wedding in seven months is not easy, but the support of our families and a detailed wedding planning notebook have made this seamless.
What are you looking forward to most on your wedding day?
We are looking forward to enjoying the special pre-wedding moments with our bridal party, dancing together, and money spraying during the reception.
