Krystle and Deonte first met when they were kids but it wasn’t until they were adults that they realized God’s plan for them. For their traditional church wedding they incorporated a live orchestra and floral arch to be sure romance was in the air. They share a passionate love which is reflected through the vibrant pops of pink and red used in their color scheme.

Tell us how you met. Our parents went to high school together so we met as kids many years ago. We tried to date 12 years ago, while I was in college at Hampton University, and he was stationed in Jacksonville, NC.
What was wedding shopping like for you? I only went to one store and only wanted one designer- Ysa Makino. He designed my wedding dress by combining 2 of his dresses. My wedding shoes were Christian Louboutin. Everything was fit for a princess.
Did you incorporate any culture into your wedding? We had a traditional church wedding. I wanted a live orchestra to play beautiful romantic music. We chose that specific church because of the seating, lighting, and structure. It is absolutely gorgeous inside.
Favorite item on the menu: Everything was amazing, especially our wedding cake!
First dance song: “As” by Anthony Hamilton & Marsha Ambrosius
What is your best memory from your wedding? My best memory from our wedding was when my parents surprised us with a horse and carriage ride down Pennsylvania Avenue. I knew something was up when our chauffeur took the wrong turn to the hotel. Our photographer stated that she wanted to get photos in front of the capital, which I did not ever remember saying in our consultation. It was truly an unforgettable surprise. We felt like royalty. It was a warm friday night in October and everyone was waiving and honking their horns at us.
What is the best wedding advice you can give to engaged couples? Take your time and enjoy the process of the engagement. Wedding planning can be extremely overwhelming. Research your vendors and interview multiple vendors before making a decision. I can truly say I interviewed 6 wedding planners before meeting Lola. After the first 30 seconds of our meeting, I knew she was the right choice.
