Sometimes looking for love can be akin to searching for your car keys; you look everywhere and glance right over the most obvious place. Clairisha and Shedwrich knew of each other growing up in their small town in Georgia, but it wasn’t until they connected on Facebook that they had their first conversation. Once they started communicating on the social site they couldn’t stop talking, which led to their first date at Six Flags and Shedwrich’s intricate proposal. Last Valentine’s Day, he turned something that could have been cliche into a beautiful display of his love. To celebrate their upcoming nuptials they worked with Dana Lee Jones Photography, and created a laid-back and romantic photo shoot. Their chemistry together is palpable, each photo give a glimpse into a much deeper love and respect for one another, we hope they have a blast at their wedding this August!
How They Met
We have always known of each other since we grew up in a small town with one high school. A few years after graduating high school, I saw him on Facebook. I later added him as my friend and immediately he was in my inbox. We talked everyday for about four days until I gave him my number. We went on our first date two weeks later and never missed a weekend spending time together ever since.
The Proposal
The proposal was on Valentine’s Day of 2013. Little did I know he had spent a week conspiring with my branch manager, co-workers, and friends on making this a day we would never forget. He came to my job and I was in the back at the time with my manager for a “quick meeting.” I was told to walk out to the lobby to get a paper off the printer. I see my friends, co-workers, and even customers huddled rounded. As I came near I saw my fiancé with a black suit on with a red bow tie and he was holding a dozen red roses. I just knew it was about to go down! He asked and I said yes.
The Engagement Session
When considering our engagement session locations, we decided on The Goat Farm and The Georgian Terrace. The Goat Farm reminded us of our hometown, which is located in Thomaston, Georgia. Thomaston is a very small town that is known for farming, cows, chickens etc… We said this could really tell our story, two country people that moved to the big city and fell in love. The Georgian Terrace was our second location; we felt that The Georgian Terrace would display our life in the city. On the day of our photo shoot, the day was perfect the sun was out shining bright and there wasn’t a drop of rain in sight. We ended a perfect engagement session on the rooftop of The Georgian Terrace, which was beautiful.
Favorite Thing to Do Together
We are a laid-back couple, our favorite thing to do is have a picnic in Centennial Olympic Park and spend much time as possible with our families.

What a lovely couple. The photographer really captured the beautiful elements that make the couple unique. I love the location of the “The Goat Farm”, I can see how that ties in to a little bit of who the couple are, but more importantly, I love the details captured: the “vintage” car, the vibrant colors of the library cafe, and the picnic, lunch set up. Cheers to you, and wonderful job, Dana Lee Jones Photography!
