Tell us how you met and all about the proposal: We met through a mutual friend, and I(Michael) was out on date with someone else that ended early and in walked Lawrence! He was in town from Los Angeles to walk and receive his degree from Howard University. We actually have a cute video that tells the story of how we met, we exchanged numbers and traveled back and forth across the country until I relocated to be with Lawrence. We have been together for 11 years.
On June 10, 2016 Lawrence proposed at Scarpetta’s Restaurant in Las Vegas among other restaurant patrons and close friends who joined us for dinner. Lawrence had the waiter slip the engagement ring into a champagne flute! I thought he had been given a dirty glass! Thats when lawrence got down on his knee and popped the question! He said, “Will you be my forever Baby?” It was funny, joyful, and tearful moment.
Describe your engagement session. Las Vegas is the city that we run to when we want a quick get away from it all. If I had to choose a theme I would say, “Vegas Love”
What did you do on your first date? Our First Date was in the city we met in, Washington D.C. It was at a restaurant called the D.C. Food Bar. We spent the night laughing a and talking about our future plans.
What’s your favorite thing to do as a couple? We love going to the movies and watching movies in our theater room at Home! We also love to walk our fur babies Joy & Troy.
How has wedding planning been so far? Wedding planning is fun but stressful. We have an amazing coordinator Emily Reno, of Weddings and Events by Emily. We’ve planned many of our own details and she’s helped to make sure they flow and will go as planned.
