For Leah and Christian love came naturally. They met at a business conference in New York City and quickly started building their relationship. For their engagement session, they wanted to be sure to incorporate the city where they first met as well as their African culture. They blended the two together by taking their photographs in traditional African attire at some of New York City’s most iconic places.

Tell us how you met and all about the proposal: We crossed paths at a college party 10 years ago but didn’t truly meet until a business school conference in New York 4.5 years ago! Six months later we both found ourselves back in the big apple and ready to take our budding relationship further!
Describe your engagement session. We are both of African descent so we decided to take shots in cultural attire near our home on the Upper West Side as well as in an area we consider quintessential New York – SoHo! Our incredible photographers – Josh & Anye – gave us two outfit options in our package so we decided to change up our looks for the second location!
What did you do on your first date? We went to a school dance together followed by a 5 day trip to Bali! We know – crazy! We’d been talking for months before so we felt good about taking the leap.
What’s your favorite thing to do as a couple? We both love to hike
How has wedding planning been so far? Daunting at first but actually not bad! Kind of fun, go figure!
Tell us what you’re looking forward to most on the wedding day. Seeing the look on our mothers’ faces!
