There is something about a black and white color scheme that is so transcendent and timeless. It is minimalistic, classic and luxe all at once. As an added bonus, black and white color palettes work well with metallic accents and pops of color. Today’s styled shoot, perfectly captured by White Orchid Photography, mixes black and white with modern and rustic elements showing us just how versatile this classic color scheme can be. See all of the magic below.
One of the most classic wedding color palettes is black and white. It is not just timeless, but can also pair well with metallic details.

This shoot at The Olana in Dallas, Texas, featured black, white, and lots of gold. With a venue as romantic as The Olana, you know this shoot was filled with luxurious details! The Olana is a gorgeous venue in Dallas, Texas, that covers 40 acres. Complete with French baroque architecture, lush landscaping, and multiple pools, this venue is every bride’s dream.

We started the shoot with portraits of our sweet couple, out front of the venue. Our bride and groom, Krissi and Russell, cuddled up, and soaked up every minute of magic! Russell wore a classic black tux, with a black bowtie. Krissi wore a silk mermaid gown by Ysa Makino, that had gorgeous beading details. The long sleeves had sheer beaded elements, and the show-stopping back featured a sheer cutout covered in crystals! A gown like this deserves the most incredible accessories, so the bride wore a gold crown by Etoile Jewelry. The gold crown tied in all of the gold detailed perfectly.

“On the lawn, guests enjoyed a stunning reception, with a large farm table covered in cascading greenery, lots of cream flowers, and anemones. Large gold circle centerpieces paid tribute to the bride’s crown. The circle theme was tied throughout, including the large escort display and wedding cake. The 5 tier cake featured gold foil details, and lots of texture. To complete the look, huge floral garlands covered the entrance of The Olana, greeting guests with a picture-worthy backdrop. No detail was overlooked in this modern black and white editorial!
