Grace and Woodly’s luxurious, unconventional destination wedding in the Dominican Republic featured over-the-top white florals, chic decor, and unique trendy fashion!
Grace and Woodly first met while they were both living in Haiti. The future couple stayed in the same social circles but didn’t see each other for many years. When they ran into one another by chance, an undying spark was ignited.
Grace and Woodly held their wedding at a luxury villa in Casa de Campo, Dominican Republic. After traveling to many different countries, they knew a destination wedding was perfect for their big day. Their wedding style was nontraditional elegance with a garden-inspired design. Featuring a long train, a dramatic collar, and embellishments, Grace’s rich, emerald green custom gown took the spotlight as she gracefully walked down the aisle to meet her soon-to-be husband.

How did you meet?
We had known each other since we were in Haiti. We remained in each other’s social circles, during our respective first marriages. After not seeing each other for many years, we ran into each other in 2018 and the rest is history!
Wedding Style
My dress was a custom MASAFI COUTURE green dress matched with green Dolce Gabbana shoes. Earrings from Swarovski. Perfume from Tiziana Terenzi.
My husband’s suit was a custom DOMENICOS suit with an accent of green. Shoes from Ferragamo and perfume from Clive Christian.
We wanted all the guests to wear white.
What was the wedding shopping experience like for you?
My philosophy is “The sooner the better”.
I started buying everything I needed a year before the big day. I’m a fashion addict and I love details. I’m very sophisticated when it comes to clothes and accessories because I like to call myself “extra”. I bought almost everything online except my dress and my husband’s suit which were bought directly from the store and were custom-made.
But to be honest it was very stressful at the end. I was supposed to have my dress 2 weeks before my trip to the Dominican Republic but I received my dress the day before I had to travel.
Decor details…
Did you incorporate any culture into your wedding?
Not at all. We are a very modern and trendy couple.
What is your best memory from your wedding?
When I was walking down the aisle to meet my husband. He did not see me during the day so when he saw me we both started crying. It was very emotional. The second thing I liked the most was when each guest saw the green dress when everyone else had to wear white.
What is the best advice you can give to engaged couples?
First Hire a planner. Second, make a list of what is the most important for you, that can help you with your budget and last, do not pay attention to any negative comments… just enjoy your day.
