The luxury Black-owned jewelry brand, V.BELLAN, has officially launched its first-ever bridal collections: Ceremony I + Ceremony II.
Known for whimsical, timeless, and classic designs, V.BELLAN’s new bridal collections invite brides into a world of romance and reminiscences of life’s most special moments and occasions.
The Ceremony I collection features sparkling freshwater pearls and radiant gemstones inspired by refined contours and architectural elegance. Ceremony II exudes regal splendor with diamonds galore and intricate designs. Brides will cherish both collections on their wedding day, and every day after “I do.”
For Vanessa Bellan, the Founder and Owner of V.BELLAN, Family has always been important.
Born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts, with a brief period living in Haiti during her younger years, Vanessa was deeply influenced by her Haitian heritage, where she explains, “family, food, togetherness, and church played central roles.”
Growing up an only child, she learned the values of hard work, resilience, and community as the oldest of over 20 first cousins. After high school, she moved to New York for college leading to her first job in the fashion industry.
Her eventual move to Brooklyn opened her eyes to a world of inspiration and opportunity, ultimately shaping her creative vision and business ethos experienced in her brand today.
Her infatuation with jewelry began much earlier during her childhood.
Vanessa shares, “My earliest memories of jewelry and fashion are intertwined with my mother’s style, which I’ve always admired. I used to play dress-up in her clothes and accessories, and my fascination with jewelry began there.”
The first piece of jewelry she ever received was a gift from her father when she was around 5 years old: a solid gold bracelet with her name engraved on it.
“I cherished [the bracelet] and wore it constantly because it was uniquely mine,” she recalls, fondly. “This piece still resonates with me because it was personalized, making it feel special and meaningful.”
Vanessa’s love for personalized jewelry inspired V.BELLAN’s early pieces which capture and commemorate life’s important moments.
Unfortunately, not all of life’s moments are happy ones. In 2019, the passing of Vanessa’s daughter propelled her into a period of profound grief and depression. To cope, she turned to jewelry making, a craft she always loved.
“I created personalized pendant necklaces with my daughter’s name for myself and my husband to carry her memory with us,” she shares. “This process not only helped me through my grieving process but also inspired me to create pieces that I imagined my daughter would have cherished.”
This emotional and transformative journey led to the official launch of V.BELLAN in 2020, commemorating what would have been her daughter’s first birthday.
Since Starting V.BELLAN in 2020, family remains a key part of her creative process.
Each piece is named after family members, serving as a heartfelt dedication to their love, influence, and memory.
Creating heirlooms is vital as it preserves family stories and traditions in a tangible way. In the bridal space, this is especially meaningful, symbolizing the bond between loved ones. Bridal jewelry is a natural fit for V.BELLAN as we specialize in celebrating life’s significant moments, ensuring each piece becomes a cherished heirloom, carrying the memories of that special day for generations to come.

Congratulations on V.BELLAN’s latest bridal collections! What can you tell us about Ceremony I + Ceremony II?
V.BELLAN’s new bridal collections are two drops: Ceremony I and Ceremony II.
Ceremony I is a modern take on bridal jewelry, featuring intricate details like gold accents, pearls, and gemstones. It offers bold yet timeless pieces, perfect for the wedding day and beyond.
“Ceremony II” adds a touch of sparkle with stunning diamond styles, bringing glamour and elegance to any celebration. These pieces are designed to be cherished for a lifetime, making them ideal for weddings and everyday wear.
What are your favorite designs from the new collections?
My favorite designs are the Amina, Siena, and Gizelle Earrings. They’re statement pieces that can turn heads and elevate any look, even with a favorite t-shirt.
How do your Haitian roots inspire you and your designs?
My Haitian roots instilled in me a deep appreciation for craftsmanship, storytelling, and the importance of family and community, all of which are reflected in my designs for VB. Most importantly, the resilience and strength of the Haitian people inspire me so much! Despite facing numerous challenges, Haitians have a strong sense of community and pride, which I try to incorporate into my jewelry. I want my designs to reflect this sense of strength and beauty, creating pieces that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also meaningful and empowering.
Why should brides (and grooms!) choose V.BELLAN?
Brides (and grooms!) should choose V.Bellan for their special day because our collections offer elegance, style, and versatility. Each piece is crafted with care to create lasting memories on such an important occasion.
What advice would you give other Black women and women of color looking to enter the fine jewelry space?
My advice would be to keep going! You may face so many challenges along the way – but remembering your “why” should be your guiding light.
