Margaret and Corey’s love story began on the campus of Tuskegee University. Unable to help but notice each other from across campus, their romance began in passing with locked eyes and inviting smiles. Finally the semester came where they would share a class together giving Corey the initiative to ask her out on their first date. From that evening on they became inseparable…

Tell us how you met and all about the proposal.
Margaret & Corey met at their alma mater Tuskegee University. They only saw each other in passing but their soft smiles always caught each other’s attention. They finally shared a class together, and Corey got the courage to ask Margaret on a date, and after Margaret ordered a ribeye and double potatoes, Corey knew she was the one.
Corey proposed on a chilly day December night in Montgomery Alabama. He bought me a beautiful black dress and said we were going to an outdoor concert. Before we reached the concert there were rose petals on the ground surrounding us, I was so confused because as I looked around there was no concert going on before, I looked to asked Corey what was going on and he was already on one knee.
Wedding Style: Sexy, fitted & very blingy mermaid gown. I am a very petite woman so I wanted to show off as many curves as possible. I added straps to give it that extra ooh la la and it came out absolutely gorgeous.
What was wedding shopping like for you? Shopping was a breeze, I brought my mother and maid of honors. We went to two boutiques in Atlanta. Every dress I loved, they loved. They made it so hard for me to choose. Once I tried my wedding dress on and strangers in the boutique started cheering for me I knew I had to get this dress.
Did you incorporate any culture into your wedding? We decided to “jump the broom” an African American tradition we used to pay tribute to our ancestors.
Bridesmaids/Groomsmen gifts: Bridesmaids: Personalized handkerchiefs (my girls love to cry), floral robes, makeup bags and set of bath bombs. Groomsmen: Personalized grooming case, Watch Case & a scented candle.
Favorite item on the menu: Mini Chicken & Waffles with a maple syrup drizzle
First dance song: “Versace on the Floor”- Bruno Mars
What is your best memory from your wedding? Corey: My best memory was seeing her walk down the aisle, everyone always tells you what you feel, but it was a feeling that I cannot describe to anyone. She was so beautiful and so angelic.
Margaret: My best wedding memory was my husband’s vows. He literally was speechless and couldn’t get the words out but as I wiped his tears I knew that his heart was pure and his love was strong.
What is the best wedding advice you can give to engaged couples? Enjoy your day. You’ve been planning for months, spending all your money, occupying all your time. Your wedding day will go by so fast, so just sit back, relax and enjoy the show.
