Marlo and Patrick’s love story is over ten years in the making. Having first met as college freshman they began a friendship that strengthened with every passing moment. Marlo would soon recognize Patrick’s dedication and genuine character, becoming her “knight in shiny armor.” They would form an unbreakable bond and together raise Marlo’s daughter. On New Year’s Eve of 2015, in front of family and friends, Patrick would make their love permanent, asking Marlo to spend the rest of their lives together as husband and wife.

Tell us how you met and all about the proposal. Patrick and I met as Freshman at the University of Central Arkansas by a friend who introduced us! As a single mother I was very scared to date someone but he took it slow and became my knight in shiny armor! We became friends which turned into lovers! He has been a father to our now 9 year old daughter since she was 9 months old! We have grown together and watched and supported each other throughout our careers and success! On New Year’s Eve of 2015 my mother and her twin had a birthday party with all of our family! He asked for my hand in marriage in front of all of my family and also asked Our daughter Kynnedy for her permission! It was the best day of our lives!
Describe your wedding dress. Mermaid style, off white Allure Dress! It is lace with a train to die for!
What was wedding shopping like for you?
Shopping was not hard at all! It was exciting! The first dress I tried on I knew it was the one! It felt magical! Of course I had to try on other ones and they were beautiful! My mother my aunt, my mother and law, and of course my wedding planner were in attendance and helped so much! I wouldn’t have been able to do it without those ladies!
What is your best memory from your wedding? Best memory from the wedding is my husband saying vows to our daughter and presenting her with a promise necklace! He promised to always be there for her and never let her down! There wasn’t a dry eye in the venue!
What is the best wedding advice you can give to engaged couples? Best advice is to always do what you want to do for your wedding not what others want you to do!
