Met Gala 2022 featured iconic Gilded Age-inspired styling with modern corsets, bold menswear looks, and glamorous accessories.
The First Monday in May brought the biggest stars, modern glamour, and plenty of inspiration for the upcoming wedding season to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
The annual gala this year was held to the quizzical bewilderment of some and adoration of others all while under the gaze of the bejeweled crowned head of fashion icon herself, Anna Wintour. The gala is held every year to raise funds and awareness for The Met’s Costume Institute of Art, and according to a Forbes report, the gala has raised over $175million during Wintour’s time as head of the event. The Costume Institute’s two-part exhibition concludes with In America: An Anthology of Fashion, which opens on May 7, 2022. This year’s dress code was gilded glamour- white tie based upon the grandeur of the span of years between 1870-1890s New York.
