Last night was the Oscars…for fashion that is. The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s annual Costume Institute Gala happens each year and showcases fashion at its best. Celebrities and fashionistas gathered at the Museum in pure fashion disharmony yesterday…The theme was punk – “Chaos to Couture” and to be quite frank, not too many of the celebrities that attended really nailed the punk theme in my opinion. But there were some that stood out for all of us here at MBM. Here are our favorite picks from last night Met Gala.
Me – Hands down, Sarah Jessica Parker nailed the look the best, in my opinion. This, to me, is what happens when couture and chaos have a baby. She wore Giles, Christian Louboutin boots, Philip Treacy headpiece, and Fred Leighton jewelry.
My other top picks were Rooney Mara in Givenchy Haute Couture by Riccardo Tisci and Taylor Swift in J Mendel.
Notable mention goes to Liya Kebede in Alberta Ferretti and Fallon jewelry. This dress is haute!

Sarah Jessica Parker Beyonce Taylor Swift Notable mention for SolangeBeyonce was the honorary chair of the event, and one of the last to arrive. In pure Beyonce style, she cleared the red carpet when she arrived in this Givency number with flaming boots and gloves to match. Actually, she flew in from London for the gala, and flew right back after the event for a show. Dedication.
