Of course one of the greatest athletes of all time would have an extravagant wedding! This weekend on Saturday, April 27th, NBA legend Michael Jordan, 50, married his girlfriend of five years, Cuban-American model Yvette Prieto, 34, in Palm Beach Florida. The couple went the traditional route and had a church ceremony exchanging vows at the Episcopal Church of Bethesda-by-the-Sea. Then guests headed to a lavish reception, which took place in a large tent at the Bear’s Club in Jupiter, Fla., a luxurious private golf club designed by Jack Nicklaus.
According to US Weekly Online, over 300 people attended his nuptials including an A-list of Hollywood and athletic royalty. Spike Lee, Scottie Pippen and Tiger Woods were in attendance. In addition, DJ MC Lyte, Usher, Robin Thicke and K’Jon provided the entertainment.
If that is not enough to make you swoon, Prieto wore a gorgeous French silk voile corseted sheer sheath gown by J’Aton Couture, complete with cascading train and embellished with Swarovski crystals. Their reception space was beautifully decorated with purple uplighting, white drapery, silver and crystal candelabras, candles and thousands white roses, peonies and tulips. Guests enjoyed a seven layer, white fondant wedding cake covered in sugar crystals and crystal brooches, featuring the couple’s custom monogram on the top layer. For the grand finale, the night ended with fireworks!

Instead of wedding gifts, the newlyweds asked guests to make a donation to the James R. Jordan Foundation. In addition, the wedding flowers were donated to the Jupiter Medical Center. You have to love this idea!
Wedding planner to the stars, Sharon Sacks, headed the planning, and according to an US Weekly insider the festivities are estimated to have cost $10 million!! We wish Mr. and Mrs. Jordan all the best.
