Having seen each other around town, Michelle and Brandon didn’t begin talking until they met online. Getting to know more about each other, their relationship truly began when a chance encounter at the gym would lead them on the path to their happily-ever-after.
Their intimate wedding took place in the charming Trinity AME Zion Church followed by a ravishing-red reception at the Greensboro Sheraton.

Tell us how you met and all about the proposal. Brandon and I met online after constantly seeing each other out-and-about around town. One day we ran into one another at the gym and the rest is history!
On June 17th, 2016 (my dad’s birthday) about 40 family members and friends went on a dinner cruise on Lake Norman, NC. Right before dinner the musician played John Legends “All of Me,” after the song was over, Brandon dropped to one knee and proposed.
What was wedding shopping like for you? Wedding dress shopping was great for me. I thought I knew exactly what I wanted, but after trying on a few dresses, that changed my mind.
Bridesmaids/Groomsmen gifts: The bridesmaids were gifted earrings, custom wine glasses and make up services. The groomsmen were gifted socks and custom glasses.
Favorite item on the menu: The chicken was so moist and flavorful.
First dance song: “For You” by Kenny Lattimore.
What is your best memory from your wedding? My favorite memory was my father-daughter dance. My dad really let loose and we had a great time. We did not have a choreographed dance, but all who saw it thought we did.
What is the best wedding advice you can give to engaged couples? I would advise all engaged couples to hire a wedding planner and have people that you can talk to through the wedding planning process. There are so many details and things that are important that you would never even know.
