For Gervas and Michelle, it’s all about growing their love for each other and looking forward to the future.
Michelle and Gervas met at a boxing match but were so engulfed in each other that as the night went on, it felt like they were the only two left in the ring. Finding they had more in common than expected the pair’s relationship flourished and years later, they’ve finally found their love match! Being a couple full of energy, they ventured out into the streets of Dallas for their engagement session and incorporated aspects of her culture as well as their zest for life itself.

Tell us how you met and all about the proposal: The two of us met while watching a boxing event and ended up paying more attention to each other than the actual match. We exchanged numbers and soon realized how much we enjoyed each other’s company. Four years later and we are engaged to be married! He flew in from an assignment out of town, we did our workout together, spent time talking, laughing, and watching Netflix. Later that night we got fancy and went to dinner; it was the perfect day! He proposed during dinner at one of our favorite restaurants.
Describe your engagement session. Did you have a theme? We knew we wanted to celebrate my Nigerian culture and as well the city where we fell in love. Plus we love the Cowboys! It was only right, right? During our session, we made lots of awkward faces, held poses for a long time, waited for people to walk by, and LAUGHED! The pictures turned out great, but what we liked the most is that it showcased our personalities.
What did you do on your first date? We went to the movies, I know so cliche’!
What’s your favorite thing to do as a couple? We love working out together, going to comedy shows, and listening to live music. Yes, Please, and thank you!
How has wedding planning been so far? Wedding planning has gone so smoothly it’s scary. I am so blessed that Gervas gives his input and actually helps me make decisions around the wedding. My favorite part of this process has been seeing how we interact when it comes to decisions and finances. It’s a neat opportunity to see how we will make decisions together in our marriage.
Tell us what you’re looking forward to most on the wedding day. Wow – ok, everything! If you ask Gervas he will probably tell you for the planning process to be over and for my wife to come home with me. And if you ask me – that tells you what he is looking forward to after the wedding…ha! I am most looking forward to the biggest celebration we have ever had in our lives with the people we want to be around us. I can’t even dream of something like this, so I will just have to stand by until November. God is so good. He has blessed me with the ability to plan the most extravagant celebration with the man of my absolute dreams right beside me.
