How did you meet? Edward is from Mississippi and Danielle is from California so it took a lot of moving pieces, a little coincidence and a lot of fate for us to meet. The short of it is that we found our way to each other through several groups of mutual friends located in Florida, Virginia, New York and Los Angeles. We met in summer 2015 in Los Angeles at a mutual friend’s birthday party. There was an instant and undeniable chemistry between us. After exchanging numbers, we quickly bonded over our similar sense of humor, faith, career goals, love for movies and 90’s R&B music. We started attending church together in January 2016, which really set the foundation for our growing faith and relationship.
Tell us your proposal story. Edward proposed to Danielle on their third year anniversary on June 25, 2019 at Universal Studios Citywalk. After one month of fasting and prayer together, the engagement became official and we celebrated on a romantic boat ride!
Describe your engagement session. Our engagement session was adventurous and fun just like us! We had to do a lot of hiking to get some of the best shots. We packed a hiking bag and hiking boots for the trek. Once we got to a location we liked, we changed shoes, changed clothes and got the shots. Danielle is really shy in front of the camera so turning the day into a fun adventure made it easier to be ourselves and love on one another in front of our photographer. We chose Carrie as our photographer because we loved the rich and deep passionate tones of her editing. We thought she really captured our brown skin so beautifully.
What did you do on your first date? Our first real date was on Danielle’s birthday. Edward took Danielle to a restaurant called Villa Blanca in Beverly Hills to celebrate.
What’s your favorite thing to do as a couple? We love to go on unique movie dates. We’ve seen movies on rooftops, movies in the park, movies on the beach, drive-in movies, movies on a golf course, movies in old school vintage theaters. Basically, we love movies! We even have goals and aspirations of making movies together.
How has wedding planning been so far? We have a date and a venue. That’s it! The rest will work itself out. We are a fun and go-with-the-flow-couple!
Tell us what you’re looking forward to most on the wedding day. We are ceremony people so the ceremony itself is what we most look forward to. Exchanging our vows in front of our closest family and friends.
