Sheila Miller, who is preparing to launch a Christian based non profit and Danny Miller, a mental health counselor were overjoyed to invite family and friends into their own whimsical wonderland for the exchanging of their vows. The beautiful couple took to the Evergreens of Maryland for their special day. Their feast of celebration will awe you to no end. Absolutely divine.

Wedding Location: Shadetrees and Evergreens – Frederick, Maryland
Tell us about how you met and all about the proposal!
Danny and I have a lot in common but the most important element is our faith and our love for God. We met at church and started hanging out with mutual friends. The more we talked and spent time together, the more we realized how much we had in common. We started dating not too long after and Danny proposed about a year into our relationship at a nature retreat center.
Wedding Style
I probably took one trip to a bridal salon, and not finding anything that I liked, I made up my mind to make my own dress. It wasn’t something that I had done before but I felt like it was something I would be able to accomplish. I took a drive from Maryland to the fashion district in New York to search for fabrics and trims. I initially had my mind on a blush dress but I purchased some ivory fabrics just in case. I made two dresses and decided to go with the ivory one. It was everything I envisioned my wedding dress will be. Soft, beautiful, and ethereal with a touch of sexy.
Culture
Being of Ghanaian descent, it was important to have some elements of culture in our wedding. We had some beautiful Kente outfits made for Danny and I, all the way from Ghana and we changed into them during our reception. We also had several Ghanaian dishes on our reception menu.
My best memory was a praise dance that I did after our first dance. It was important for me to express my gratitude to God for what He has done for me… for us.
Understand and accept that there will be imperfections, but without a doubt, hire a planner and designer who can help you pull it all together. Also, do not lose sight of what’s important that day. It’s not about everyone and everything around you, it’s about the two of you and your commitment to each other.
