In our journey to inspire love, MunaLuchi has created Muna Serenade: A Curated Couples’ Date. It is an opportunity for engaged couples to express their deepest affection for each other in an unforgettable date night experience. Produced by members of the Coterie – MunaLuchi’s curated collective of elite wedding vendors, selected couples are provided with a photoshoot, video shoot, fine dining, and more.
Held at Princess Manor in Greenpoint, Brooklyn on March 29, 2021, our Brooklyn Serenade was all about celebrating love in luxurious style. Four newly engaged couples were treated to makeovers, a photoshoot, and delicious cuisine. After dancing the night away, they left with custom gifts and memories to last a lifetime. Our curated date night experience was held on location at Princess Manor in Greenpoint, Brooklyn on March 29, 2021. The day started with hair and makeup upstairs in the Princess Room with our stellar Glam Squad. Tinika, Shaniqua, Felicia, Shaleira & Megan J did not come to play. They beat faces and styled hair fabulously so that our couples were ready for their photo shoot at nearby Domino Park. Our brides-to-be were also given some wedding dress shopping and styling wisdom from Bridal Designer, Yemi Osunkoya.

By the time our couples David & Colleen, Omari & Amanda, Corey & Rhianna and Joseph & Keila came back from their offsite photo shoots, they had bonded like old friends. I walked into the Bridal Suite to tell them about their grand entrance assignment and they stopped me to thank us for making them feel so special and so cared for. I had to fight back tears. They said it was the best day ever and the night was just beginning. “Gang, gang.”

With our theme of “Luxe Love in Brooklyn” top of mind, we designed around the spectacular brilliance of the chandelier in the Empire Ballroom; by adding soft flowy velvet fabric around the room with drapes and table linen. The ballroom layout was set with COVID regulations in mind for everyone’s safety. So each couple had their own custom designed sweetheart table that was set up with exquisite china, platinum trimmed glassware and fancy flatware from Jai Events Rentals & Design, along with lush florals that incorporated our color palette of royal blue, silver and white color scheme with pops of yellow and their personal sweetheart cake. No two cakes looked alike. Uplighting, candles and clustered candelabras around the room, helped to set the mood. The 8 foot hexagon candle wall with blossoming curly branches served as a great backdrop for photo ops. Our couples were in awe of the room transformation and sat to take it all in. They saw the before when they arrived earlier that morning and to see this sexy luxe love transformation afterwards was wonderful.

With the room set for our couples’ date night to begin, we held a mini photoshoot of Yemi Osunkoya’s wedding dress designs before dinner. Our models (Desiree Scarborough, Kalila Abdur Razzaq, Gislaine Garcia and Rajene Williams) looked amazing and the dresses fit like they were made for them. A special video captured their looks.

With assignments given to our couples for entering the ballroom, we were ready. While the amazing Silver Arrow Band performed Al Green’s “Let’s Stay Together” live, our couples danced their way through the doors and to their sweetheart tables, while pausing on the dance floor to give us some flavor. They understood the assignment and nailed it one by one.

Chef Jahvel of JVF Pantry created a menu of amazing culinary delights that included: (1) Bone-In Pork Chop, Crispy Potato, and Charred Bok Choy; (2) Roasted Chicken, Wilted Swiss Chard, Carrot purée and Crispy Potato; (3) Seared Duck, Sweet Potato Purée, Wild Mushroom and Blueberry Cognac Sauce; and (4) Petite Filet, Creamy Potato and Asparagus. He did not disappoint in presentation and satisfaction.

Our couples were so full of personality and fun that shined as they took to the dance floor. The mix of live music from The Silver Arrow Band and DJ spinning from Finer Touch Entertainment, nobody wanted the night to end. I legit had to give DJ Sparkx the “if you don’t stop” eye for the music to cease and bring the night to a close. While our couples gathered their belongings, we packed up their sweetheart cakes by Caken It and presented them with a special gift box prepared by the now Mrs. Krystle Tolliver of Lavish Beauty Baskets, a bride from our 2020 Brooklyn Serenade. Talk about Muna Serenades coming full circle!

Our couples and team left with big smiles because this was another one for the books. Despite the many personal and professional challenges that occurred, “Luxe Love in Brooklyn” was an amazing date night experience.
