In our journey to inspire love, MunaLuchi has created Muna Serenade: A Curated Couples’ Date. It is an opportunity for engaged couples to express their deepest affections for each other in an unforgettable date night experience. Produced by members of the Coterie – MunaLuchi’s curated collective of elite wedding vendors, selected couples are provided with a photoshoot, videoshoot, fine dining, and more.
Our February Serenade in Brooklyn, NY featured an all-star MunaLuchi Coterie team lead by Suzette Spann Scarborough of Envisioned Events by Suzette. It was a glamorous, memorable, fun-filled night that included makeovers and a unique couples activity. Suzette shares,
We hosted 4 lucky couples who were offered the opportunity to experience a curated date night in Brooklyn, NY for the Muna Serenade. Our theme, “Romance Blooms in Brooklyn,” was the inspiration for the decor created, and The Brooklyn Bank was our canvas.

The Venue
The Brooklyn Bank was originally built to house the Bankers Trust Company, but was later renovated into an event space that features exposed brick walls, high ceilings with elegant chandeliers, furnished lofts overlooking the main floor and cathedral windows. They even maintained the original bank safe.
Our elite Team of vendors utilized all 3 levels of The Brooklyn Bank to create the couples’ experience. The two 3rd floor lofts served as our hair and makeup section for our Glam Squad. Being in the lofts, our couples were able to be pampered away from the production areas. The lower level Gallery was perfect for our couples’ Cocktail Hour and their date night activity. The lower Gallery is a warm, creatively illuminated area of the Bank with beautiful gold and white diamond marble floors and art lined walls that featured canvases of Nelson Mandela, Aretha Franklin and President Barak Obama.
A Night of Romance and Fun
We arranged a “T” shaped estate table with black linen tablecloths draped to the floor. The tabletop was designed with pillar candles, low floral arrangements in shades of pink and blinged mirrored trays. It was the perfect setup for the couples to make their own signature scent candles. Ashley from “Rewax & Wine” helped our couples put together the right combination of fragrances that would serve as a wonderful reminder of their date night when they returned home. During the candle making activity, our couples were served cocktails and hors d’oeuvres by Woody and Nadege to sip & eat.
After their Cocktail Hour, our couples returned to the main floor for dinner. The space had been completely transformed. With our theme in mind, the bank vault held an organic balloon wall with floral pops throughout. The sidewall shelves had framed pictures of our 4 couples, mixed with candles and added florals. Hanging from the loft rails were cascading balloon clusters with fresh florals added too. The dining table was draped with pink sequins tablecloths and the tabletop was dressed with charcoal charger plates, black velvet napkins, gold flatware, black stemware, gold-framed place cards, and stunning menu cards. In the center of the dining table were 2 large luxurious floral arrangements in shades of pink and white, on top of tall black trumpet vases. At the base of the tall arrangements were low florals in mirrored vases and candles mixed between. At both ends of the table were black candelabras with live tapered candles to seal things in.
Serving as a backdrop to the lush dinner table, surrounding a large canvas painting of a beautiful woman, were tall and low flower stands with pink blooms and pillar and floating candles in glass cylinders. In the center of this assortment of beauty was a round gold pedestal that held a 5-tier wedding cake in pink, black, gold, and white. It was stunning. The remainder of the main floor had lounge seating areas and high-top tables for our couples to mix and mingle in and enjoy the space.
Another showstopper incorporated into the décor was a hand-drawn floral mural at the entrance of the venue. Kay, our chalk artist, created a pink and white floral art piece on the black chalk wall and added our theme, “Romance Blooms in Brooklyn” into it. Everywhere your eye landed was filled with something beautiful. What an amazing décor design our team put together.
But the night couldn’t end without our couples hitting the dance floor and having a great time as Finer Touch Entertainment got them out of their seats and our vendor Team joined in.
To end the night, our couples were given gift bags that included the candles they made during the Cocktail Hour, along with a specially curated gift box filled with goodies from Sonia at SV Kreations. Our couples had a hard time leaving that night and we couldn’t have been happier with how beautifully it all came together.
