In our journey to inspire love, MunaLuchi has created Muna Serenade: A Curated Couples’ Date. It is an opportunity for engaged couples to express their deepest affections for each other in an unforgettable date night experience. Produced by members of the Coterie – MunaLuchi’s curated collective of elite wedding vendors, selected couples are provided with a photoshoot, videoshoot, fine dining, and more.
Our Paterson, NJ Serenade took place at The Art Factory, an industrial chic event venue. The artsy yet romantic venue perfectly complimented the night’s theme, “The Art of Love.” Our pampered couples enjoyed a makeover, elegant art inspired decor and exquiste cusinie. One of the highlights of the night was the karaoke competition. The Brides-to-Be performed “Cater 2 U” by Destiny’s Child, and the Grooms-to-Be performed “My Girl” by The Temptations! It was a night full of love and fun, expertly executed by our MunaLuchi Coterie members lead by planner and designer Envisioned Events by Suzette and beautifully captured Photography by J Martin Weddings & Events (see our complete list of amazing Coterie vendors below). Look out for updates on our next Muna Serenade!
The Night’s Theme
The theme for our Paterson Muna Serenade was “The Art of Love” (with a slight play on the location’s name). It was held at the Art Factory in Paterson, NJ on a beautiful day in February. The Art Factory is an historic campus of inspiring 19th-century loft spaces, with an industrial chic vibe. We decided on the Hemp Stage Room for our special curation because of its open airiness and awesome views of the city of Paterson.
The Ambiance and Design
While our couples went through hair, makeup, interviews and photo sessions, our vendor Team went to work on creating an elegant romantic space for our couples’ evening date night. Our colors for the dining experience were white, with pops of red and gold. To soften and brighten the dark industrial design of the Hemp Room, we utilized white sheer panels along the aisles in the room and incorporated a cascade of drapes that spread through the main aisle and created a runway to the dinner table and the Living Room for the Cocktail Hour.
Our “Living Room” design for the Cocktail Hour incorporated mixed sofa and chair seating options for our four (4) couples. The Chuppah that covered the Living Room was decorated with lush greens all around it and down the poles. White florals were incorporated into to the greens and a beautiful runner of red roses were adorned on the arm of an emerald green velvet chair. It was stunning and became the focal point for several individual and couple pictures. We also mixed in artwork on easels that represented couples expressing their love in different ways. This, with a backdrop of hanging industrial lights and votive candles on the end tables set an amazing mood for our couples’ Cocktail Hour space.
Another showstopper décor design for our couples was the large bed of red rose petals we arranged on the floor in the shape of a heart, between the Living Room and Dining Table. The heart shaped bed of red rose petals was sealed with votive candles that gave a nice romantic glow to the design.
When our couples entered the space, they were mesmerized and could not stop taking pictures. Once they settled in, our couples enjoyed a fabulous 3 course meal that was created by Chef Jahvel.
A Night of Romance and Fun
The Karaoke Competition, “Best Man” movie style, occurred before our couples sat for their entrees and desserts at the dinner table. The Brides-to-Be performed “Cater 2 U” by Destiny’s Child and the Grooms-to-Be performed “My Girl” by The Temptations. After dessert was served, our Team came out to thank our couples for being a part of an amazing curated date night, and we announced the winners. The Grooms-to-Be won! We presented the couples with their gifts and extended well wishes as our couples departed for the evening. Everyone said, “this was one for the books!” We couldn’t agree more.
