Nashaylia and Travell’s love story first began to take shape in grade school, where they remained dedicated to each other almost until the end of high school. Prior to graduation they decided to go their separate ways and for nine years trod different paths until once again those paths converged. Perusing social media one day, Nashaylia noticed a post from Travell about his relationship coming to an end. She decided to reach out and reconnect. Almost without missing a beat they picked up where they left of in full stride towards a future of happily ever after…

How did you meet? Travell and I actual met in grade school. Some people I guess would call it young “puppy love” because we began to date in 6th grade. We actually dated well into our 11th grade year but decided to call it quits. Travell and I lived several different lives for nine years. We both attended college and dated other people. One day I noticed Travell’s facebook status regarding breaking up with a previous girlfriend, so I decided to slide into his DM. We began to chat, and the rest is history!
Tell us your proposal story. The proposal was very short and sweet. Travell and I were at home and surprisingly he just got on one knee and asked me to marry him!
Describe your engagement session. We decided to add James Bond 007 elements to our engagement session. My fiance’s last name is “James” so we wanted to incorporate his name somehow within the session, and what better way to do it with a fun vintage-style session. We also decided on a color scheme of red and black. Our photographer chose to incorporate a vintage truck and car.
What did you do on your first date? After rekindling our love for one another after a nine year breakup, our first date was actually a dinner date at one of my favorite restaurants.
What’s your favorite thing to do as a couple? Travell and I love to watch movies and enjoy our favorite snacks when we have the time, after work and kids.
How has wedding planning been so far? Wedding planning has been great so far! I have enjoyed picking out colors for the wedding and most of all my wedding dress.
Tell us what you’re looking forward to most on the wedding day? I am looking forward to putting on my wedding dress, walking down the aisle with my father and stepfather to the love of my life.
