Tell us how you met and all about the proposal. Jermaine and I met through a mutual friend at work. He claims he had his eye on me for a while and had plans to approach me but let’s just say his friend got the ball rolling. We had the perfect proposal! He surprised me with a graduation cookout and invited our friends and family. To say I was surprised is an understatement. Jermaine is such a hard worker and a loving and compassionate person. I always knew he was the one! What more can you want in a husband?
What was wedding shopping like for you? Wedding dress shopping was so much fun! I always knew I wanted to bring drama! My dress was a fitted, strapless dress with a long train. Jermaine wore a classic and timeless tux from Black Tux.
Did you incorporate any culture into your wedding? Jermaine is from Guyana so we enjoyed dancing to soca and reggae. The Soca dance line was epic.
Wedding Party gifts: The bridesmaids each received two dozen roses and wedding day robes. The groomsmen each received a custom flask.
Favorite item on the menu: OMMMG ! Bold American Catering did an amazing job everything was delicious! I absolutely loved the beef brisket and macaroni & cheese.
First dance song: “My Endless Love” by Mariah Carey and Luther Vandross
What is your best memory from your wedding? My best memory is dancing all night with our closest family and friends. We are so blessed to come from a loving family.
What is the best wedding advice you can give to engaged couples? We encourage couples to enjoy the wedding planning process. Also, take time to enjoy your wedding day!
