How did we meet? We met through a mutual friend. She asked me to meet her after work for drinks and to meet her brother (Montrel) that she hadn’t seen in a while. I was all work and no play at that time so I decided it wouldn’t hurt to having a few drinks then get back to work. I got lost trying to find their location so (Montrel) got on the phone with me and stayed on until I reached my destination. Before hanging up he told me “I will be the tall and handsome guy standing in the parking lot. Sure enough he was the tall and handsome guy in the parking lot. She introduced us once I got out of the car and our eyes locked immediately. I had just gotten out of a mentally abusive relationship so the last thought on my mind was getting to know him better. But I did notice how much of a gentleman he was, how smart, funny and humble he was. By the end of the night he ended up taking my car to the car wash and cleaning it. He said to me a pretty lady should never drive a dirty car so I told him to wash it for me and he did, the first time ever meeting me. I left after he washed my car but I still had him on my mind. The next morning I soon found out that I was on his mind too.
Tell us about the proposal. He proposed to me on Thanksgiving 2016 and we set the date on Thanksgiving 2017. We usually have the family every thanksgiving, so I felt that would be the best day to propose. I was outside talking with my auntie and next thing I know the door swings open and it has his friend Dre with his phone in my face. After he came out, Montrel came to me and expressed how much he loved me and how he did not want to live without me. He got on one knee in front of out family and friends and asked me to be his wife. The first thing I said to him was “Did you ask my dad first! My dad confirmed that he did, so I said of course I will be your wife!

Also to hire Jewel Odeyemi, owner and lead planner at Touch Of Jewel Events & Designs as their wedding planner. Without Jewel my fairytale would not have happened the way I wanted.
