Whitney and Chris dated for about two years before Chris popped the question at a surprise birthday party for Whitney. Whitney actually thought the night would simply be a “girls night out” since Chris insisted that she spend time with her friends while he hung out with the boys. Whitney recalls…“It turns out the girls night out was really a surprise birthday party at “Slate” where Chris invited old friends and new with the addition of family and more! After greeting all my guests, Chris called the attention of everyone and made a toast to [me] that ended with him bending down on one knee, opening a small black box and saying “look familiar?” referring to a ring that [I] fell in love with months before when I was just dreaming of getting married and went ring browsing with the girls, but never actually thought it would be happening so soon after. Shocked and still confused from the whirlwind of events that occurred the entire day I blurted out “Noooooo….”. Everyone gasped in shock [then] realized that I ACTUALLY meant yes. I quickly corrected [myself] and embraced Chris like I never wanted to let go.”

Bride: Whitney Joe Groom: Christopher Joe Occupations: Service Supervisor – David’s Bridal / Marine Wedding date: September 18, 2011 Location: The Empire Club, NJFROM THE BRIDE:
“The wedding planing process was the most exciting part. I started out with getting a bunch of ideas for inspiration, mostly from magazines or television shows. However, it didn’t make it any easier when it came to choosing a theme, colors or decor because it made me just want to do everything I saw. I opted not to have a wedding planner since I was fortnate enough to have wedding coordinating experience from working with my mothers company “Creative Ambiance“. In the end, process of elimination led me to choose a modern fairy tale wedding theme, but my biggest challenge was visually interpreting it for everyone else. I stuck with very dream like decor from the colors even down to all of my floral pieces. Needless to say, I was the bride who asked lots of questions in consultations with my vendors to ensure they would be a perfect fit for my dream day.”
MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT:
“The most memorable part of the wedding day was the entrance to the reception. The entire bridal party (parents included) had such a good time. It was very important to Chris and I that we had plain old fun on our wedding day, after all you can only do it once so why not do it BIG! We did something reminiscent of a soul train line up that gave everyone their time to shine and show off what made them special and everyone loved it! I was so happy to see everyone having a good time and the smiles on all of my guests faces. That one moment will always make me smile.”
{LOVE BIRDS}
He loves...”Chris loves my goofy factor. I’ll admit that I’m somewhat of a nerd and tend to be very quarky. I guess you could say that I’m a bit socially awkward, but in a good way.”
She loves…“I love the way Chris loves me. Although it’s cliche I have to admit that after all these years he never stopped knowing how to make me feel special and thats something that I will always cherish. There’s not a moment that goes by when I spend time with him that he doesn’t make me feel like a school girl, even when I want to pretend I’m mad.”
