Allycin and Aaron met in college. “We moved in similar circles but I mainly saw him from the crowd during college basketball games,” Allycin shares. After graduation, their friendship continued to grow. They spoke all the time, learning intimate details of each others lives. In 2013 Aaron moved to Allycin’s hometown of Los Angeles where they proceeded to take things to the next level. With over a decade of friendship, sharing a love of photography, art, and science it was destined for the pair to one day meet each other at the altar.
The couple wanted to channel the essence of their soon-to-be wedding with an old world meets high fashion engagement session. Starting off in the Walt Disney Concert Hall and continuing through the streets of LA, the session merged their impeccable taste and artistic passions. Take a look at their chic LA engagement session shot by Joel Bedford.

Tell us all about the proposal!
The engagement was simple and perfect. It was Christmas Eve I ran some errands and came home to my nervous boyfriend. He “tricked” me into opening just the right present then got on his knee. I didn’t even have to open the tiny red box before I said, “YES!” The ring is a one of a kind made by my fiancé with the help of our family jeweler.
What did you do on your first date?
Since we already knew each other so well our first date was pretty easy going. He lived in Downtown Long Beach so we met at his place and walked through the city (I love walking cities). We found a cute Greek restaurant and had dinner there. He was charming and funny. I was a little surprised.
What’s your favorite thing to do as a couple?
Photography, we walk through a city or on a beach and shoot everything we see then compare perspectives.
How has wedding planning been so far?
Wedding planing has been more straight forward than I expected. I am surrounded by focused and dedicated women and they are all willing to take charge of anything and everything. So, being a little bit of a control freak this is both comforting and terrifying. Overall, I would say the worst part is the guest list. We have tons of friends and enormous families so keeping the list tight is really quite difficult.
Tell us what you’re looking forward to most on the wedding day.
Of course I’m looking forward to the fun and dancing but mostly I just want to see the look on Aaron’s face when I head down the aisle.
