When I started this magazine 3 issues ago, I didn’t know what it would become. One thing I did know, was that I wanted to showcase the most beautiful and stylish weddings that brides of color had to offer. I knew I wanted to work with the best of the best in the bridal industry, and I knew I wanted to make Munaluchi a mainstream magazine with staying power. I never imagined that all of these things would come in such a short period of time. It was only in January of 2010 that we launched our first issue nationwide. Today, I’m so thrilled to finally reveal the new Fall/Winter 2011 cover of Munaluchi with a timeless cover gown created by Preston Bailey himself…
Working with Preston Bailey was an extreme honor, to say the least. The wedding dress worn by our cover model, Anouschka, was inspired by a Marchesa gown and created using stems from 250 white phalaenopsis orchids, 400 white hydrangeas, 300 white tibet roses, and 100 pink rosita vendela roses. All of the flowers were flown in from Royal Base Corporation in Taiwan and it took 3 people and 24 hours to create this work of art. So it just blows my mind when I think about the work that went into putting this gown together….for us! That just goes to show…when you dream big, big things happen.
