Our Top Wedding Dances!

One aspect of weddings that we all look forward to is the newlywed’s first dance.  It usually starts the reception off in grand style.  Many couples are tired of first dances in which they sway back and forth in one place, so they take dance lessons to give their first dance some pizzazz!  However, some couples are taking it to the next level, incorporating dancing throughout their wedding- from the ceremony to the reception.  Choreographed performances featuring the bride, groom and their wedding party are all over Youtube. So today, we are showcasing some of  the most popular wedding dance performances on the web.  Let us know which one is your favorite!

1) Tori Williams’ Beyonce Medley Dance!

Hairstylist and make-up artist Tori Williams (formerly Tori Johnson) has helped many brides in the Atlanta area look beautiful for their weddings. Her exposure to so many weddings helped her create a lot of unique wedding ideas for her own nuptials, including her idea to dedicate a dance to her husband. She enlisted the help of her friends, fellow stylist Shenilla Metore, and Anrienne Bussey and Sharod Fields of the group Raven Major, to help her put together the choreography.  Beyonce’s hit song “Love on Top”  had the perfect groove and lyrics for her to express her feelings to her husband James. The team worked for months to put together the choreography and practice the dance, which ended up being a great way for Tori to get in shape for the wedding.  Wedding planner Eliana Baucicault of ellyB Events, made sure Tori had everything she needed to pull off the surprise performance (including those fans so Tori could have some wind blowing through her hair in true Beyonce style.)  Tori found her stylish red sequin jacket at the shop of local Atlanta, GA designer Lolita Alonzo. If you haven’t seen this performance yet, you are in for a real treat. 2) Ashley Richmond’s Father/Daughter Dance!

Ashley and her father practiced their steps for their Father-Daughter dance in their living room with the hopes of bringing cheer to their family and friends.  However, they didn’t know that their clever dance would steal the hearts of the nation. In 2011, Ashley’s father daughter dance was the number 5 most shared story on Facebook and the number 5 most viewed family video on YouTube. Their social media popularity also landed them a guest spot on  Good Morning America and Fox & Friends in New York!  Her experiences inspired Ashley to create her own website called Daddy’s Little Bride, which provides dance and wedding planning tips!

3) Kahlmus and Aleyne Eatman do everything form Ballroom to Hip Hop!

Kahlmus and Aleyne met as students at Duke University.  Besides being extremely intelligent, this fun couple are also awesome dancers, and they showcased their skills during their first dance.  Watching them will make you want to take dancing lessons with your partner.

4) The Father of the Bride and Groomsmen take on The Temptations!

This routine is so cute. The father of the bride starts off by saying, “I can’t believe my daughter is getting married. Maybe I can get her back.”  He then calls on “The Temptations” who are the groomsmen, to help sway his daughter.  You will love their old school grooves.

5) Couple Does a Dance Battle!

Who doesn’t like a good dance battle.  This bride and groom can both hold their own.

6) Wedding Party does the Harlem Shake during Ceremony!

This couple clearly likes to have fun.  Doing dances during the ceremony may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but Nate and Abby Nettim decided to incorporated one of the most current dance crazes “The Harlem Shake,” at the end of their ceremony. Even the officiant was in on it.

This groom and his groomsmen mixed choreography and freestyle to put a smile on the bride’s face. Start the video at the 2:04 mark.
