Outdoor Garden Wedding in Atlanta by Sophia Barrett Photography- Maeling + Anthony

Anthony and Maeling’s love is heaven sent. So it’s not surprising that they met at church. They have a beautiful love story, and their outdoor garden wedding at Flint Hill, a historic mansion in Norcross, GA, is equally as awe-inspiring. How They Met/The Proposal

After church service one Saturday, Anthony finally convinced a friend to introduce him to Maeling.  Anthony recalls, “I walked over cool, calm and collected.   I said, ‘Hi,’ and shook her hand and promptly looked away.   I was nervous after that.”  Coincidentally, Maeling had just been joking with her friends about how there were not any guys their age at their church.   She was immediately impressed with how polite Anthony was, and she and her friends invited Anthony to go out to dinner with them later on.   According to Anthony, when he made it to dinner he was still nervous, “[my] hands were sweating, face was greasy, but I was going in.  Because it’s rare you find somebody so beautiful!”  After making small talk at dinner, Maeling suggested that the group go salsa dancing, which is one of her favorite activities.   Anthony admits that he had never gone salsa dancing in his life, but he recounts “I had to make sure that when she closed her eyes that night, she saw me.  So a brother was going to get out there and try.”  Anthony struggled with the salsa, so Maeling decided to come over and help him out.  He kept looking down because he was nervous about stepping on her feet. : )  Reminiscing about that moment Anthony says, “It was beautiful. Her hands in mine, moving to the rhythm of the salsa beat….  I left that night without her phone number or email because it was the first day that I had met her and I didn’t want to be pushy.   I figured we’d cross paths again (Gotta play it cool!).   I left that night so pumped because I knew that if things went right, she could be the one.”  And she was!   Maeling says, “From that very first encounter, we planted a seed of friendship and a couple years later he proposed to me.  I was so excited when he got down on one knee that I ended up joining him on the ground, repeatedly asking ‘is this really happening?’ It was a beautiful moment, and I will never forget hearing those words ‘will you be my wife?’”

Most Memorable Moment

Maeling recounts, “The most memorable moment for me was when I was walking down the aisle.  As soon as I started walking down the aisle, I locked eyes with Anthony and it really started to hit me that he was about to be my husband!  It was such an emotional moment for me and I’ll never forget the reassuring look he gave me as I walked towards him.”

True Love

When we asked the couple what they loved the most about each other, Anthony stated he loves, “[Maeling’s] warm spirit cultured by her faith in God.”  Maeling loves “his sincere and caring nature.”
