While out in Charlotte’s nightlife scene, Tiffany approached Landon across the room and the two hit it off. A proposal on the 93rd floor of Chicago’s John Hancock Tower, led to (perfectly timed) fireworks on the Navy Pier and a beautiful lavender and pink outdoor wedding at Palisades Country Club, in Charlotte, North Carolina. On October 11th, 2014, once a half hour rainfall came to an end, Tiffany and Landon said, “I do.”

Tell us about how you met and all about the proposal!
Landon and I met one random evening while partaking in Charlotte’s wonderful nightlife about 5 years ago. We were both hanging out with friends when our eyes met from across the room. In an uncharacteristic turn of events, I actually approached Landon and initiated the conversation. To this day, he doesn’t pass up the chance to tell everyone that I “hollered” at him.
In February 2013, my job informed me that I would be attending a conference in Milwaukee in June. I did a little research of the surrounding area and discovered that Chicago was only an hour train ride away. I immediately called Landon and suggested that we go on our annual trip as a couple to Chicago. After a few weeks of pondering, he was all on board and thought that it would be a fantastic place to vacation. After my conference, we stayed at the Wit Hotel in the heart of the windy city…
On Saturday, June 22nd, Landon made dinner reservations for us at the Signature Room, a lovely restaurant perched on the 93rd floor of the John Hancock Tower with breathtaking views of Chicago’s Skyline. At approximately 10:15, he scooted my chair near him and began expressing his love. I was a little taken aback and began wondering why he was being so sentimental. He stood and in front of the entire restaurant, he got on one knee and asked me to marry him. The entire restaurant erupted in applause and outside of the window where we were sitting, fireworks started to go off. Yes, fireworks. Landon timed the whole engagement perfectly. He knew that at 10:15 every night, the Navy Pier, which was visible from the restaurant, would have a fireworks show.
Wedding Style
Our wedding theme was romantic elegance. Wedding dress shopping was fun and memorable. I began shopping for a wedding dress in March of 2014. My family and I went to two local boutiques and after trying on three dresses at the first boutique, Poffie Girls Boutique, I found my dress. I chose to change into a form fitting reception dress which I found online.
Memories
A storm came through exactly at the start time of my wedding. It lasted 30 minutes, then the sun came out and there was a double rainbow in the sky.
Help a bride-to-be out!
If it rains on your wedding day; lucky you! Rain on your wedding day is good luck and it represents fertility. So don’t have too much fun on your honeymoon unless you plan on having a little one soon after saying “I do.”
