Peloton’s Ally Love’s wedding week in Mayakoba, Mexico was a spectacular celebration of love, family, and culture.
Known for her positivity, mindfulness, and good vibes, Peloton instructor Ally Love’s wedding was (in her own words) going to be “legendary.” And it certainly was! Surrounded by 250 guests, Ally married her best friend and boyfriend of ten years, Andrew Haynes, in a 5-day wedding celebration in Mexico. From the first night of Welcome Drinks to Carnival and Miami night, each day had a specific theme that flowed seamlessly into the next. And guests changed their outfits each night, which resulted in some pretty creative styles!
Overall, the pair were very nontraditional and purposeful in their wedding planning. Unlike most brides, Ally was not “the planner.” Instead, Andrew took the lead and (with Ally’s support, of course!) designed their dream nuptials. They further used their wedding week as as an opportunity to shine light on women-owned and BIPOC businesses and vendors. Working with The Knot’s Charity registry, their guests also had the opportunity to donate to The Armour Dance Theatre, which promotes diversity and inclusion.

How they met…
While the couple have maintained a pretty low profile, in an exclusive interview with The Knot, Ally revealed they “initially met on New York City’s nightlife circuit through mutual friends.”
“We used to go out and party and we met through the love of dance,” she said. “What’s happened and transpired–and we have many and great friends who got married sooner–is we never felt rushed. Andrew has always been a person who’s adamant about timing… Our relationship started when we were young and fun, and we’ve grown together over time.”
The proposal…
On Christmas Eve 2020, Andrew asked Ally to marry him on the beach at the Rosewood Mayakoba in Mexico (the same place they’d eventually get married!).
“We were having a conversation, and it kind of happened. He got down on one knee, and he opened the ring box,” she recalls in an interview with People Magazine. “It was beautiful. [He] put the ring on, and we had private fireworks. He had set up the whole thing unbeknownst to me, and it was quite beautiful.”

Cultural elements…
In a pre-wedding interview with The Knot, Ally revealed she and Andrew “have considered implementing cultural traditions and honoring their ancestry.”
One of these traditions might include jumping the broom and, from a religious standpoint, thinking about who would officiate their ceremony.
As for the events leading up to the ceremony, they both had a turn celebrating their cultures! On Carnival night, Andrew celebrated his Trinidad and Tobago background. And Miami night honored Ally’s Floridian roots.
