It was interest at first sight for Courtney and Andrew. The couple were classmates in both middle and high school in Greensboro, NC, graduating from high school together. Though they had mutual friends and knew of each other they’d never been formally introduced. Over a decade had passed when they reconnected on social media. Andrew was living in Germany while Courtney was residing in Durham, NC. Through countless messages they developed a friendship that would eventually evolve into a true romance. “We are thankful that God allowed our paths to cross at the right time. We are so excited to be getting married and building our legacy together,” Courtney shares.
The couple planned an engagement session that captured their perfect all day date. From long walks in the park to a sexy night out on the town, this e-session captured it all. Take a look at their beautiful photos shot by Art by Ash Photography.

Tell us all about the proposal
Courtney’s family gathers at her aunt’s house on Christmas Eve for a holiday party. This year the family decided to have an “Ugly Christmas Sweater” theme. After laughing at the different sweaters and watching the children open their presents, Andrew walked in Courtney’s direction and said “There is one more present left to open and it’s for Courtney.” At this point, Courtney was a little confused and thought maybe his mother had a present for her. It wasn’t until Andrew said, “Everyone knows that Courtney and I have been dating for a while..” that Courtney realized he was about to pop the question. Andrew got down on one knee, professed his love for her and asked if she would marry him. In a state of shock, she said “YES!” and her eyes immediately filled with tears of happiness. Needless to say, Courtney was very surprised and so full of emotions that she cried the ugliest cry ever!
What did you do on your first date?
Courtney and Andrew’s first date was at the Village Tavern Restaurant in Greensboro, NC. Andrew had just arrived home from working in Germany. Courtney was so excited and nervous at the same time. She appreciated the fact that he was a real gentleman. Andrew was intrigued with Courtney’s beauty, whit and her genuineness. Andrew knew at the first date that Courtney was the woman that he would spend the rest of his life with.
What’s your favorite thing to do as a couple?
Thier favorite thing to do as a couple is cook together. They enjoy making Salmon, crab cakes, and most of all Bang Bang Shrimp. Courtney states that Andrew’s Bang Bang Shrimp is out of this world, the best that she has ever tasted!
How has wedding planning been so far?
Our wedding planning experience has been exciting and fun. I did not know how detailed it would be. It was more than we expected and we are appreciative of all of the special individuals that he have in our lives to make our day special. It’s a lot of hard work and organization but as they say “Hard Work Pays Off!” We are super excited about our big day!

Such a beautiful story. Couldn’t be happier for two wonderful people. This is a testament of how love should always be shared between two people not allowing distance or anything else get in the way. Love requires work, plenty of work this is the result of two lovebirds working together as one.

A dream come true! A real life fairy tale! My son and his beautiful bride are so deserving of each other. They each have been delightful children and are now responsible, loving and caring adults. I remember Andrew preparing a day long date with Courtney. I was blessed to watch the proposal. What a blessing to know they came full circle, through whatever it took. and reconnected with the mate God had for them. Congratulations!
