“I wanted to design a shoot that felt light, airy, and clean. Thus, the location was selected as the backdrop was by the water and offered a neutral color palette. I love the idea of dining al fresco, and was excited to design a tablescape by the water in the open air.
It was also important to me that I designed an event that wasn’t too over the top. By carefully sourcing decor from a few of my favorite stores and vendor partners, I was able to design an event that was beautiful, but also practical.
In lieu of a traditional multi-tiered wedding cake, we opted to offer various desserts via a dessert display. Our clients are loving the idea of featuring a few of their favorite treats. So we wanted to show that option in the shoot.
For events that have a youthful crowd, we are seeing that our clients are liking higher communal tables as well as barstools and open spaces. We designed the tablescape using higher tables to reflect the trend that we are noticing.
The tablescape was designed with the idea of incorporating various types of candles. Different shapes, containers, and heights. Combining those three elements provided for texture and versatility.
For the ceremony space, we opted to use various sizes of lanterns to accent the altar.
Another trend that we are seeing is the inclusion of blue suits. The blue suit that we selected for our groom went perfectly with the blue and green color palette.
Lastly, the inspiration behind the flowers was greenery, and classic. There are peeks of flowers on the tablescape to accent the gorgeous runner. The bride’s bouquet stole the show with the gorgeous white blooms and ribbon detail. It was important to us that the bouquet was full, but also lightweight for our petite bride.”
