How did you meet? Craig and I met through a mutual friend. Prior to the time of us meeting, Craig had reached out to a friend that lived in Edmonton, AB, Canada, where I live. During one of their conversations, his friend told him about me. Craig took it upon himself to message me on Facebook (slid in the DM) and we haven’t stopped talking since.
Tell us your proposal story. Craig and I decided to take a trip to Vancouver, BC to celebrate the day that we met in person, July 5 2017. When we first met (on March 13 2017) our conversations initially started through text messaging, then the phone, then facetime. On July 5 2017, we met in person when I went to Toronto, ON, Canada for a church function, that date was special to us. July 5 2018 we went for a beautiful dinner at the Cactus Club Restaurant on English Bay in Vancouver, afterwards we went for a walk down Stanley park and once Craig found the perfect spot, right by the water with the sun in the background he got down on one knee and proposed. Craig had this all thoughtfully planned out, as the entire time we were together on this date, he had our photographer following us, and was able to capture captivating moments from our dinner date, to the walk, to the actual proposal. A couple days later we were also able to do a casual photoshoot in an area called Gas Town, and a month later we had a formal shoot at Knox College in Toronto. As you can tell July 5 is a very special day for us and we will be getting married this year on July 5 2019!
Describe your engagement session. Craig is an old man at heart. He loves 90’s music, especially old school hip hop, box hats, vinyl records, everything about the nineties, when he’s not in his work attire, he’s in sweat clothes. The casual shoot was really for him and his style. I am really feminine, I love to dress up and do my hair and also dreamed of doing a formal engagement shoot so that really embodied me and my personality.
What did you do on your first date? Our first date was a wedding for one of Craig’s friends in Mississauga, Toronto.
What’s your favorite thing to do as a couple? Reading! Craig and I both love spending our personal time reading and focusing on ourselves as individuals and how we can be better spouses when the time comes. We have also taken timeout to read together, and have been able to address those difficult questions that some couples do not entertain or think about prior to marriage. It helps us see where we are alike, different and areas that we need to improve on to make our marriage a truly happy marriage.
How has wedding planning been so far? Wedding planning has been good, we got most of our vendors secured and ideas on paper within the first few months of actually being engaged. With only 4 months left to go, we only have minor details left. I mean, I already ordered and received my cake boxes!
Tell us what you’re looking forward to most on the wedding day. I’m looking forward to spending the day with my friends and family. This wedding planning experience has been a working contribution by family members on both sides. I am looking forward to the day where all of our dreams and ideas are put into action.
