This picturesque waterfront wedding at the Tyee Yacht Club in Seattle, Washington, celebrates Mexican culture with a mariachi band and a bilingual English/Spanish ceremony.
Since they first met in 2008, Lupe and Leonard (LT) have created a beautiful life together. Building a strong foundation of love and family, and Navigating life’s challenges like the Pandemic, they have been partners for one another in every sense of the word.
By 2020, it was time for them to take their relationship to the next level. When LT proposed on Christmas Day, he knew it had to be a family affair. Under the guise of exchanging gifts with his mother, LT took Lupe and their two children (Adrianna and Kendrick) to a park in Kent, Washington, where they used to go for walks when they first started dating. Following a nostalgic stroll through the park, Lupe was completely surprised when LT got down on one knee and their kids held up a sign reading: ‘Will you marry Dad?’. Of course, she said yes!
Surrounded by friends and family, Lupe and LT celebrated their longtime love in a romantic waterfront wedding at the Tyee Yacht Club in Seattle, Washington.
Their nuptials were filled with romantic touches including soft pink blooms by Pearl Studio, gold tableware, and custom stationery by Zazzle. Pops of color throughout the day, including the bridesmaid’s bold red dresses, paired perfectly with LT’s white suit and Lupe’s gown with soft lace accents from Samila Bridal. The couple also infused Mexican culture into their wedding by incorporating a bilingual English/Spanish ceremony and a Mariachi band at their reception.

The bride…
How they met…
We met at Maxi’s Lounge through mutual friends in 2008.
The proposal…
Christmas Day 2020 in Kent, WA, at the park we used to go for walks when we first started dating. Leonard “LT” tricked me into thinking we were meeting his mom in Kent to give her our Christmas gifts from us.
When we arrived in Kent, LT kept showing our kids places we used to hang out, and I’m still unaware that he was getting ready to propose. We get to the park, and he says let’s go for a walk like we used to.
He starts talking about everything we’ve been through together and gets down on one knee while Adrianna and Kendrick (our kids) hold up a sign: Will you marry Dad?
The groom…
Wedding attire & shopping experience…
Lupe: The shopping experience was stressful because we had a family emergency on the day I went to try on dresses. I paid for the dress the same day, but I kept second-guessing myself and returned to the store to try on the dress again. I ended up sticking with my first choice, a gown by Samila Bridal & Formal.
LT: My son and I went together to try on suits at Men’s Warehouse. It was the best father/son experience.
