After receiving the blessing from Marlina’s parents, Thomas set out for one intimate dinner proposal on what would become one extraordinary date night. After Marlina said yes, a pink spring wedding drew near. The two wed at the famous Swan House in Atlanta, where Marlina chose to wear her mother’s veil as she walked down the steps of the estate to meet her handsome groom.

Tell us about how you met and all about the proposal!
Little did I know, Thomas was planning a proposal during the two months of me being in Atlanta. He had blessings from my parents to ask for my hand in marriage. After a long week at work, Thomas asked me to dinner on Saturday night before Thanksgiving. I told him I wanted to stay home because I was exhausted. He insisted I get dressed and go because we had skipped a few weeks due to our work schedules. He kept the place a secret the entire day. This wasn’t uncommon because we make plans for each other all the time.
We arrived at C&S Seafood Bar & Grill to find a table reserved for us with beautiful flowers set up at the table. Thomas later told me he bought those to have put on the table. They offered us wine tasting and recommended great food. I was clueless. Several dessert platters arrived and I was ecstatic because that’s my favorite part. I finally uncovered the last dessert and found that it was a box. At that point, I saw Thomas on one knee asking for my hand in marriage. I was shocked and started crying.
Wedding Style
I chose two locations to shop. I arrived at Winnie Couture with a few of my bridesmaids and tried on multiple dresses. I liked a little something from all three dresses. Winer, the assistant there, informed me that I could do just that. I liked the tubed topped mermaid style dress. I loved the sequin detail on the bust area as well as around the bottom where it flares out. I wanted the bottom of a different dress to match my style. So we put all those ideas together and created my dress. I chose to wear my mother’s veil.
Memories
My favorite memory was walking down the stairs and down the aisle to see my husband. His smile and tears made me cry. It was the happiest moment of my life.
