And just like that, the internet wins again and is the perfect matchmaker, this time with Tiffany and Dane! We definitely couldn’t keep our eyes off this stunning oceanfront destination wedding in Jamaica.
After meeting up IRL and deciding to become a couple, while Dane was deployed to Japan, the pair’s relationship continued to flourish and they knew that they wanted to spend forever together. During a magical outdoor evening in the Big Apple, Dane popped the question and the two spent a romantic evening celebrating their engagement with excited friends and family.
With wedding planning next on the horizon, both Dane and Tiffany felt it was important to honor their Caribbean heritage by infusing elements such as food, wedding favors, music, and more into their four-day wedding event.
Luxury wedding and event planner, Shikima Hinds, and photographer, Kareem Virgo, collaborated with the couple to capture and bring all the gorgeous elements of their outdoor wedding to life. Guests were treated to a stunning ceremony under a perfect Jamaican sky seated beneath a softly draped linen wedding tent to watch Tiffany walk down the aisle in a spectacular gold Brides by Nona gown.
Their stylish destination wedding was nothing short of perfection and added to the tropical beach background that crowned an already beautiful day with an added touch of magic.

How we met…
We met online. After texting, talking, and finally face timing– I agreed to meet in person. I was so scared of the online dating thing that I did not want him to know where I lived so I agreed to meet him in the next state over in a very busy restaurant. During that time, we talked for hours and quickly realized we both really liked each other.
Our proposal story…
For the proposal, Dane rented a rooftop in Manhattan. It was a beautiful fall evening and the most romantic setting with lights, flowers, pictures of us all around, a violinist, and the letters ‘Marry Me’. When I arrived, Dane was waiting on one knee with a beautiful speech asking me to be his wife. After I said yes, my kids and our closest friends entered, as they were waiting in the next room! We had a fun night celebrating on the rooftop with drinks and food.
Finding the one…
Dane went away on military duty to Japan for two months. During that time, we spoke on the phone every day. Our longest conversation lasted 8 hours. We had the most honest conversations and spoke about everything: our lives, our past, our dreams, and where we saw our relationship going. It was during that time that we both knew we wanted to be together, forever.
Making the gown…
I worked with Brides by Nona over the course of a year to design and create my wedding gown. I told her I wanted to stand out in gold, as I did not want a traditional white gown, and she sketched four amazing options for me. It was hard to pick but I incorporated several elements from her designs into one gown.
She hand-placed thousands of golden Swarovski crystals on the gown. So much time and detail went into it. The dress was a masterpiece in itself, so I did not want to overdo it with accessories. My headpiece from Su Rena Bridal was the perfect addition to the ensemble and complemented the gown.
Our wedding style was…
Luxury meets tropical elegance.
It’s all about the details…
I wanted everything to be personalized. My sorority sister, Dami, of By Dami Studios made sure to make that happen. She is so detailed and every piece of paper, sign, napkin, pillow….was all a work of art. Our logo was hidden somewhere on it and it all tied into the larger design.
Sweet serenades…
I knew I wanted to walk down the aisle to “Why I Love You” by MAJOR and was so excited when he was available to be there for our special day. He is also Dane’s frat brother, so he jumped right in for the Alpha Phi Alpha sweetheart song at the reception as well.
Celebrating our heritage…
With both of us having Caribbean backgrounds, and Dane being Jamaican American, it was important that our wedding felt true to our cultures. The music, the favors (Wray and Nephew limited edition bottles), our wedding cake (rum cake), the performers, the drinks, the food- we kept it true to Jamaica.
Making memories…
Our celebration was four days of festivities with countless unforgettable memories. On the wedding day, my favorite memory was walking down the aisle. It felt like an out-of-body experience. When I was at the end of the aisle, the beauty of it all took my breath away: our closest family and friends all dressed in white, the ceremony tent with all the flowers, the beautiful backdrop of Jamaica that looked like a painting, and my love waiting for me at the end of the aisle.
If we could tell you anything, it would be…
Do not rush through the process. Give yourself a year or two to plan your wedding. If you want to be married, have a civil ceremony but give yourself time to plan a proper celebration.
