What did we love about Wyrissa and Donoy’s luxe Bahamian wedding? Um, can we just say absolutely everything?!
To make you fall even more head over heels in love with these gorgeous nuptials, Wyrissa had the perfect person in her corner who definitely knew what she wanted for her big day. This person turned out to be… guess who? Her sister! Her sister’s company, Alexandra Rose Bridal and Events, created the stunning florals and theme for the day.
When it was finally time for the couple to celebrate, Wyrissa explained, they definitely had their own “big fat Bahamian wedding” which featured a deliciously pink reception and cake lovingly handcrafted by Rose Bakes.

Falling for you…
We met through my first cousin. One Sunday, my cousin invited me out to the beach with some of his friends because I had been visiting from Grand Bahama. While we were there, he saw one of his business associates and he called him over. As he did that, he proceeded to introduce me to him. We shook hands and from that day to this day, we haven’t stopped talking. We became friends and then lovers later.
Our proposal story…
It was December 12, 2021, when Donoy proposed. He had just come back from a trip and I was teaching a virtual class at home. he went down on one knee and poured his heart out to me telling me why he wanted me to be his wife.
A look at our style…
I picked his suit, and he was okay with that. My dress was custom made by my sister’s company Alexandra Rose Bridal & Events. She sketched a dress, and it was made. I was in love when I saw the sketch.
The best things in life…
The best memory from the wedding was us becoming husband and wife.
Doing it our way…
Our wedding was just a nice fat Bahamian wedding.
Looking back on our wedding…
The best advice I can give engaged couples would be to hire professionals and enjoy the process. Wynette, my sister from Alexandra Rose, really was the best and I’m not saying that because she is my sister. She really was the sweetest and it made the process absolutely enjoyable, smooth, and memorable.
