Brenda and Nolan’s sunny estate wedding featured a comfy “something blue” and a cute vintage phone booth built by the groom!
After meeting on the dating app Tinder, the couple had the most romantic engagement during a stroll by the Seattle skyline. With the help of their wedding planning team at Dancing Boots & Fairytales, their dream wedding day was filled with personalized details that made their nuptials one of a kind.
The bridal party’s fits were chic and comfy with their matching black pajamas and adorable blue socks with floating baby clouds. Not to leave out the groomsmen who wore classic blue suits that perfectly complimented the bridal party’s champagne-hued gowns.
Beautiful white florals added a modern yet chic touch to the ceremony and the super cute wedding newspapers were a great alternative to the traditional ceremony program. Wedding guests were greeted with a ‘sip and solve’ oversized crossword puzzle and an old-school phone booth where guests could sit and record messages for the bride and groom in an audio guest book.

We swiped right…
We met on Tinder. On our first date, we went to a bar on a marina. We sat by the window and there was a huge thunderstorm that we watched in silence for about half an hour.
Popping the question…
Nolan took me out for a romantic evening in Seattle. First, we checked into the hotel where we celebrated our first anniversary, then we went to a quaint Italian restaurant on the water. We ended the evening with a romantic boat cruise that ended when Nolan proposed to me with the Seattle Skyline in full view.
Our wedding style…
The men wore navy blue suits, and the women wore champagne bridesmaid dresses.
Celebrating our culture…
To celebrate my African roots, in June we held a traditional Kenyan ceremony called “Koito”. This is where the two families presented each other with gifts. The gifts are supposed to be a symbol of the union of the two families. We then ended the ceremony with traditional Kenyan dancing and food.

Memories from our wedding day…
Nolan’s father and my father had a dance-off facilitated by the MC. It was a great experience that brought our two cultures together. There was also a brief Q&A session where guests asked us questions about our most recent trip to Kenya. It was very entertaining for everyone!
