Three stunning wedding dresses, an emotional first look, and reception photos beneath a rainbow are just a few highlights from this classic and romantic wedding!
Kimberly & Jerome’s first meeting reminds us of a 90s rom-com. In April of 2017, Jerome and his sister were walking the isles of their local Kroger when all of a sudden a woman caught his eye. Intriguingly beautiful, he followed the mystery lady around the store (for 45 mins according to Jerome’s sister!) until his sister finally convinced him to introduce himself. Kimberly shares, “Of course, he did just that, all while telling me how beautiful I was. In that conversation we found out we were next door neighbors, and the rest is history.”
That fateful encounter in Kroger’s led them to the rest of their lives together! And in June 2021, the pair tied-the-knot at the Bridlewood of Madison in Madison, Mississippi. After postponing their original wedding date a year due to Covid-19, they were ecstatic to finally say “I-do!” While it rained on their wedding day and their ceremony was moved inside, they were able to take some breathtaking outdoor photos beneath a rainbow during their reception! Other highlights include an emotional first-look and Kimberly’s three gowns (two of which were custom designed!).

How they met…
“Jerome and I met April 2017, in Kroger. According to Jerome’s sister, he had been following me around the store for a 45 minutes. Since he is known to be super shy, Jerome’s sister had to force him down the meat aisle to introduce himself. Of course, he did just that, all while telling me how beautiful I was. In that conversation we found out we were next door neighbors, and the rest is history.”
The proposal…
“Easter is a big deal to my family and I. Jerome and my sister thought that this would be a great opportunity to propose in front of all my family and friends. This particular year (2019) we invited 50 or so family members over, and did the obvious, cook, dance, and participated in family games. One game in particular that stood out the most was karaoke. Jerome grabbed the mic, requested our favorite song, “Can’t Let Go” by Calvin Richardson. He got on one knee, and asked for my hand in marriage. I am blessed that Jerome was able to propose at my grandmother’s house, who recently passed.”

Wedding style & attire…
“Our wedding was romantic and classic. We decided on bold, soft colors like purple, amethyst, rose gold, and different shades of pink. I couldn’t choose just one gown, so I decided on three wedding gowns, that were perfect. They were white, A-line, Silhouette, style gowns, which consisted of both lace and sparkles. Jerome wore a traditional white suit for the ceremony, and changed into a black and amethyst tuxedo for the reception.”
Wedding shopping experience…
“Personally, I had the perfect, most intimate, shopping experience. Bridal Sense’s J wright collection provided me with all the personal assistance I needed. They were both great listeners and made sure they captured every intricate detail. What made this experience perfect was that they both reached out to me days before the wedding willing to travel and be available.”
Favorite wedding day memory…
“My favorite memory from the wedding is Jerome clapping his hands, as I walked down the aisle, holding my mother’s hand. He was so excited about becoming one in front of our friends and family.”

Best wedding advice for other engaged couples…
“First, get a great wedding planner who knows the wedding industry in the city you’re planning to host your wedding. Then, trust your planner’s list of vendors and when you meet with them, pick the ones who you think will be organized, care about what you want, and will be fun to work with. I had so much fun planning my wedding because I had the best team of people who listened to my vision for the wedding. I trusted their expertise and let them ‘do their thing’ which resulted in a perfect wedding!”
