The wedding of Sam and Atoya is, in a word, “dreamy.” The images are light and soft, airy and totally serene; yet, they pack a punch. These two people are beautiful without a doubt, but what’s much more important is that it is so obvious that they couldn’t be happier or more in love.
Before they became Mr. and Mrs. Garner, Atoya and Sam lived separate lives until their romance began on the Day of Romance, February 14. Get to know this couple in their own words and enjoy the breathtaking images from Altmix Photography. This lovely wedding was put together by the imaginative ellyB Events.
The Bride: Atoya Harvin
The Groom: Samuel Garner
The Career: Bride – College Advisor and Make Up Artist; Groom – Minister
The Wedding Date: 11.11.2011
The Location: The Georgian Terrace Hotel
The Meeting …. “Atoya and Sam are former residents of Atlanta but currently reside in Jacksonville, Florida. They met in Atlanta on Valentine’s Day in 2010 after a sermon that Sam had preached. People call Valentine’s the day of love and it was certainly that way for this couple. After their first conversation together, they knew they would be together forever. That moment led to nights of jazz and Mediterranean cuisine. Sam would travel six hours to Georgia after work on weekends to visit Atoya. Atoya made many trips to see Sam in Jacksonville while ministering too. Fast forward seven months later, Sam nervously approached her mom and dad to ask for her hand in marriage after seven months. Then [gave her] a suprise proposal on her parent’s Anniversary Night in a Tango ballroom.”
The Theme …. “Excited about the 11.11.11 wedding, the bride and groom made special preparations, to ensure that guests would have a memorable time in Atlanta. Atoya chose to have a “WINTER WONDERLAND” theme-inspired wedding, infused with icy décor drenched in silvers and whites. Accents for the guest tables were carefully crafted throughout the months of planning. Sure enough, everything was well worth the wait. Danny Wilson, owner of The Savage Garden, helped to bring Atoya’s dream to reality! We continue to receive compliments, which made all of the planning worthwile.”
The Most Magical Moments …. “Wow, it’s so hard to name just one! The pure joyful emotion that Sam & I experienced that day is what I remember most. From waking up to the most beautiful, warm, sunlight as its orange-glow shined on the chair in my bridal suite, to ending the night with soft, ivory petals being tossed onto us during the exit, all brought sheer happiness to my heart. The Winter Wonderland vision that I had dreamed of for my wedding came to fruition. As I walked down the isle that was dressed in snow and candles, the moment was so surreal. I would re-live 11-11-11 everyday, if I could!”
{You Make Loving You So Easy}
Sam was enraptured by Atoya from the get-go …. He considers Atoya to be his queen and refers to her as his first lady or the lady of his life. He remembers how stricken he was with her beauty when he first laid eyes on Atoya, but the wisdom and faith that came from her lips captured his heart.
Atoya’s heart has a thing for Sam’s …. She states that Sam is a warm and caring man who cares for her with passion, as well as for GOD and the welfare of others.
Atoya and Sam, your wedding was a gorgeous dream. Congratulations on your wonderful day, but I pray that your lives together will be far more beautiful than your wedding ever was. Sam, may you continually be stricken by your wife’s beauty and words. Atoya, may your beau’s heart always cause yours to sing – every day and in every way.
