“Patient persistence pierces through indifference”… so the saying goes. And, boy, was it so true in the case of Amber and James! James exemplified what it means to go after exactly what you’re looking for – or in this case, exactly who you’re looking for. This wise man knew just who he needed by his side (Amber) and he made sure that she saw it, too :) She saw it so deeply that she agreed to spend the rest of her life with him, never to part ways again.
Every sweet wedding moment was beautifully captured by the couple’s friend, talented photographer Chad of Sobitart Photography. If you appreciate true artistic beauty and flawlessly candid emotion, you have got to head over to his website and blog.
Now, meet the couple…
Bride’s Name: Amber Saunders
Groom’s Name: James Nobles
Occupations: Amber is the Senior Wedding Planner at A’ Marie Weddings. James is the Owner of Yote City Clothing. [This creative couple put together many of the elements of their wedding themselves. They did a tremendous job!]
Date of Wedding: May 7, 2011
The Beginning … “Our friendship was pretty distant for the four years we knew each other, after being introduced through mutual friends in 2003. In February of 2007, we ran into each other and exchanged numbers and agreed to catch up one day. So after a few days, James sent me a text and asked if we could get together, but I kept brushing him off, because I wasn’t taking him seriously … But, he was serious, very serious, and he was persistent! James would continue to invite me to different events and I continued to deny his requests. This went on about 2 months. Finally on April 6th, I decided to meet with him for a casual lunch. [About] 15 minutes into our conversation, we knew that there was something special happening between us. We enjoyed each other’s company so much at lunch, that we decided to go out again the same night for dinner! From that day on, it couldn’t have been clearer that we were meant for each other and have been together since.”
The Proposal … “During Memorial Day weekend 2010, we headed down to Atlanta, Georgia to visit my family and to see my cousin graduate high school. Following the ceremony, we went to Maggiano’s Little Italy for a celebratory dinner. I wanted to take pictures of the food and of the custom menus that were made, but since I left my purse and phone in the car due to the rain, I asked James if I could borrow his phone. Just as I was about to review the photographs I had just taken, James immediately took his phone back in an effort for me not to see pictures he had taken of my engagement ring! Completely oblivious to all of the signs throughout the day, from my sister insisting on a manicure and making sure I always had on lip gloss and James taking his phone away. James eventually walked over with a box in hand, got down on one knee and proposed in front my entire family. It was so special and romantic!”

The Planning Process … “As a wedding planner, the hardest thing for me was to pick the ideas that I wanted to feature in our wedding. At first I thought this was going to be my chance to have everything the way I wanted it, since most grooms aren’t interested in the planning process at all. But, with James being a designer, and very creative, we definitely had to work together and agree on a vision that we both wanted for our guests. The hardest thing was being able to edit our ideas, and use the ones that fit us best. Although we didn’t have a specific theme, we definitely wanted a fun and unique wedding, so we decided to include karaoke for the guests during dinner, a candy bar with a pink chocolate fountain and a photo booth that our photographer set up for us that included [kooky] props for our guests.”
The Photographer … “As a wedding planner, I knew choosing the right photographer was the second most important thing on my list (after designing my custom-made wedding gown). There was no doubt that we wanted to work with Chad from Sobitart Photography. He’s been our longtime friend and his work has always impressed us. He has a natural talent and seems to capture every moment effortlessly (even though we know how hard he works). Our pictures came out AMAZING and was without a doubt…the best decision we made.”
{An Unforgettable Moment}
“By far the most memorable thing was during the reception, our photographer set up a plasma screen TV that allowed us and our guests to view all of the pictures of James and I getting ready and some of the shotsfrom the ceremony. It was just perfect! For a day that went by so fast, it was so awesome to just take a moment and stop and look at those photos, and for our guests to get a sneak preview of all the preparations for our big day. It was very special to us.”
{Loving You Is Easy Because…}
Amber really loves that James … “is a very selfless person: he is always thinking of other people, and ways to do something special for them, which is one of the reasons why I fell in love with him.”
James had this to say to Amber … “You always know what to do or say, [whether] I want to hear it or not. At the end of the day, it brings joy to my heart.”
Amber and James, may your marriage be richly blessed with love, laughter and rich conversation. Just like your relationship was born of persistence, may your love be steadfast and persistent through all the mountains & valleys, the highs and lows of life. May you fight for each other and alongside each other – always! Congratulations!
