Meshayla and Cherod met at a military treatment facility and shared jokes. Eventually, the duo shared more than just laughs of friendship: love became their greatest source of laughter. :) Cherod proposed to Meshayla at the restaurant of their first meal date. Of course, she said, “Yes!” Meshayla is now in a special league – the league of army wives because her Cherod is a soldier in the U.S. army. Her Richmond bridal session was photographed by PhotoLadyLove.

On inspiration ….. “I chose to work with my photographer and wedding planner on a military themed shoot with a vintage twist. I am in love with 1940’s-1950’s glamour; so I chose to incorporate the vintage theme with my dress, hair and makeup. The military inspiration came from what and who my husband is. I am so proud to be his wife but to ALSO be an ARMY wife. I just love the adventure and the life of the army. I wanted to honor military culture and military spouses with aspects of the session. By bringing the combat boots and custom dog tag in as props and choosing to spend the second half of the session at the Virginia War Memorial, my photographer, my wedding planner and I wanted to highlight the military aspect.”

He loves ….. “Two words, ‘OLD SOUL.’ Her inner beauty is just as infectious and significant as her outward appearance. Her love and happiness is infectious. Meshayla also gets my brand of humor (as corny as it may be at times) and we can laugh and joke with each other. I love her for being my best friend. I confide in her about everything and she is not quick to judge. Lastly but most of all, I love her because she loves me. I am a soldier in the US Army, which instantly made her an military spouse. This life I know has its challenges; however, she embraced the military life, because it is a part of me. She makes me a better husband, father, and man.”
She loves ….. “It’s so hard to just choose one thing but I would have to say the love that he has for my son, my family and me. From the day we became a couple, he has poured out so much love – so much that you wouldn’t think that just one person could do that. Even though he is halfway across the world, he never lets a day go by without calling, texting, or Skyping to let me know that he loves me. I never have to question it. Not to mention the fact that he cares for, loves and is so attentive to my son. That’s just who he is: a GREAT man with a GREAT heart. Who could choose just one thing [to love] with a man like this?”

Just two words. “Simply Beautiful”. I too am a military spouse and although my husband is in the U.S.Navy, I am so glad to see you representing ALL military spouses and husbands. I loved the entire theme. Congrats to both of you.
