Romances that begin in high school are always extra sweet. There’s often a charm and sweet innocence to them, and when they blossom as the years go on, they take on a depth shaped by the many years of togetherness. Jalessa and Justin met in high school and quickly struck up a great friendship. That friendship would eventually mature to a romance that would shape them both and stay with them through the years until this very moment: the moment when they would pledge themselves to each other forever and decide to be best friends for the rest of their lives. They are truly inseparable now :)
Their wedding was wonderfully captured by their good friends at Your Endless Memories Photography. Be sure to check them out and enjoy these great images.
The Bride: Jaleesa Howard
The Groom: Justin Mosley
Occupations: Bride – Direct Support Professional; Groom – Water Delivery Rep
Wedding Date: October 30, 2011
The Location: Regal Ballroom, Philadelphia, PA
The Proposal ….. “Justin proposed at Boat House Row on Kelly Drive in Philadelphia, PA. It was just the two of us. He began talking about special moments in our relationship that led up to us being there that night; then, [he] asked me to be his wife. I was so shocked and surprised! Little did I know our friends were already en route with cake and a celebration!”
The Planning Process and the Event ….. “The planning process for us was fairly simple. We had an amazing wedding planner who kept us on track every step of the way. We had a short engagement (only 6 months to plan) so that made things a little challenging. Plus, we were also in a wedding for our good friends that got married a month before us. All in all, it was very fun planning. From taste testings to dress fittings, Justin was involved in every detail. Knowing we were not going to have a bridal party, Justin and I knew all the focus would be on us and our love that day. We did our invitations cake box, and wedding favors boxes by hand ourselves. That created a lot of fun opportunities to do things together and with friends. Our theme was originally Black and White elegance [but] we added yellow for that pop of color and it turned out beautifully. We had a candlelit reception with huge chandeliers, and soft draping. Because it snowed in October (yes, October), we were able to get beautiful pictures in the snow. One element we wanted to stay true to was the fact that we wanted [the] wedding to reflect our relationship. We wanted it to be fun and silly; so, we were selective in choosing music, and made sure there were no tears on the dance floor. So, no sad father-daughter dance or mother-son dance. Instead, we made [it] a fun competition between the four of us. We got down to some new and old school music classics. Our wedding was everything we hoped for.”
The Most Unforgettable Moment ….. “Seeing each other for the first time. This may sound cliché but it is so true that in that moment of first seeing each other it feels like no one else is there but the two of you.”
Congratulations, Jaleesa and Justin! Your love and friendship have stood the test of time and I pray it continues to do so for all time.
