Tina and Amond celebrated their engagement with a ‘Ride or Die’ themed e-session in Baton Rouge, Louisiana!
They first met in college at Southeastern Louisiana University and exchanged numbers for a group assignment. They kept talking on and off for a few years and officially started dating in 2013. In February of 2020, they purchased their first home together. Amond proposed to Tina in front of family and friends at what Tina thought was only their housewarming party.
I couldn’t believe it because I was in total shock that he finally asked me to be his wife! As a little girl, I always dreamed of this day, and to finally have it happen is still so surreal.

Tell us how you met and all about the proposal
Amond and I met in college at Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, Louisiana. We shared a class together, Drugs in Society Health Class, we had a group assignment where we had to exchange phone numbers to communicate and have been talking on and off for a few years after that. We finally made it official in 2013. After dating for years he finally proposed on July 4, 2020.
We had just purchased our first home in February 2020 so he made me believe it was a housewarming party, all our family, friends, and parents were there at our home when he asked me to marry him. I couldn’t believe it because I was in total shock that he finally asked me to be his wife! As a little girl, I always dreamed of this day, and to finally have it happen is still so surreal.
Describe your engagement session
Our engagement session was perfect with the perfect photographer in downtown Baton Rouge, La! Our theme was “Ride or Die” and elegance. The photoshoot tied into that theme of Amond asking me to be his rider for life and of course, I hopped in the Vette! We wanted to be elegant and wore white and off-white/cream for the studio photos. Our photographer captured us perfectly and we couldn’t have asked for a better person to do so.
What did you do on your first date?
On our first date in 2013, we went to the Mall of Louisiana and went shopping for a shirt for Amond to wear on Easter Sunday. We had dinner at BJ’s (he had pizza, I had pasta) and frogmen yogurt. We had a good vibe going, I actually met both of his parents that day.
What is your favorite thing to do as a couple?
Our favorite thing to do as a couple is to catch a vibe at a chill hookah bar, loving on each other’s energy. We go out a lot with friends but when we are by ourselves, the chemistry is definitely different.
How has wedding planning been so far?
Wedding planning so far has been pretty good. We have a wedding planner which makes it a lot easier for us and saves a lot of time on some tasks. Danyelle has been great! The groom has a vision of what he wants and will do all he can to make it happen.
Tell us what you are looking forward to most on your wedding day?
Amond: I am looking forward to the first dance. I’m ready to dance for the first time with my wife.
Tina: I am looking forward to the ceremony. I know it’s going to be intimate and beautiful, I honestly can’t wait to say “I do”.
