Tiffany and Asher’s formal country club wedding at Frenchman’s Reserve Country Club in Florida gave us high-wattage romance as the couple exchanged their vows surrounded by an enchanting Mediterranean-inspired landscape.
After meeting at a church conference and exchanging social media contact information the two began their long-distance romance during Covid, which eventually led Asher to plan a family outdoor surprise proposal. Asher’s surprise proposal was such a fun way to include the couple’s family and friends who all got to celebrate such a special moment with the future bride and groom.
With wedding planning in full swing, the soon-to-be newlyweds worked with Wedding Designer DB Kreative Expressions, Floral Designer W&W Flowers, Events & Weddings, and Wedding Coordinator Terrance Barnett to bring their vision to life.
From the ceremony to the reception’s modern decor with touches of black, gold, and red brought chic and luxurious details, along with live musical performances, to delight the couple’s guests.
Remember that you’ve chosen some of the best people around to help you celebrate, so treat them with love and kindness.

Getting ready with the bride…
How we met…
The encounter unfolded at a church conference in Miami when each of our friends invited us to attend the event. On that Friday night, as I poured my heart out in prayer, little did I know Asher was eyeing me across the room. When the service concluded, our paths crossed as we walked close to each other towards our parked cars. Though we took a glance at each other at that moment, we didn’t exchange words. However, destiny had more in store for us.
The next day at the conference, we found ourselves in the same session, and to my surprise, we even sat in the same row. After the session we exchanged our Instagram handles, unknowingly setting the stage for something extraordinary. Months later, amidst a pandemic, our connection blossomed into a beautiful long-distance godly relationship. Love truly knows no boundaries and we know our meeting wasn’t just by chance.
Our proposal story…
Asher proposed to me in the most dreamy and romantic way possible. Even though I was exhausted from staying up the night before, I couldn’t have been more surprised and overjoyed. It all started after we left church and stopped by my friend Quinn’s house to hang out before dinner. She had some extra clothes that I could wear to dinner, and little did I know, this was all part of Asher’s plan.
As we drove to our dinner location, Asher blindfolded me. I fell asleep during the drive, not knowing what was happening. When we arrived, I followed Asher’s lead, and when the blindfold came off, I was greeted with the most beautiful sight. Asher was on one knee, surrounded by our closest family and friends, in a gorgeous backyard set up with a huge lit-up “MARRY ME” sign and flowers in the pool! It was like something out of a movie!
As Asher asked me to marry him, I felt like time stood still. It was a moment I will never forget. After saying yes, we spent the evening celebrating with our loved ones, enjoying catered food, and dancing to romantic music played by the DJ.
Wedding Style…
My husband and I had a clear vision of what we wanted for our big day and we were determined to achieve it. We both went for a timeless and elegant look that would intertwine with our vision, while still reflecting our unique personalities.
When it came to finding the perfect dress, I tried on about 60 wedding dresses! Can you imagine? However, within the first three dresses, I knew exactly which style I was leaning towards. Still, I wanted to have the full wedding dress shopping experience. I searched high and low but couldn’t seem to find the perfect dress. However, I knew precisely all the little details I wanted in a dress.
I finally found a dress from a designer online that I loved, and they sold dresses in a bridal shop I had already visited. So I ordered the dress and had a custom split and other details added. I paired it with some classic Jimmy Choo shoes and topped it off with some bedazzled hairpieces, and it sealed the look! My second dress was also online! It was a dress that I had been eyeing for some time but figured it would be better as my reception dress!
Suiting up with the groom-to-be…
Asher was initially set on a black tux, but our wedding coordinator, Terrance, suggested he try on a white tux. Asher tried on the white and decided right then and there that he would have a white tux for his ceremony look and a black tux for his reception. It was such a great decision because it made him stand out and look so debonair!
Gorgeous pre-ceremony details…
Celebrating our culture…
As Christians, our faith is the center of our lives. It only made sense that we would incorporate our faith into our wedding. Our officiant, Yul Crawford, led us in taking communion during the ceremony.
As we partook in the sacrament, Yul emphasized the importance of the covenant between ourselves and God in our union. It was a beautiful moment and Yul was more than just our wedding officiant. He had counseled and encouraged us in God throughout our entire stage of dating and engagement. We were honored to have him marry us and lead us in communion.
We also had three other ministers speak prophetic blessings over us and our marriage. Isaac Burney, Joycelyn Barnett, and my uncle, Neal Thomas, are all ministers who are dear to us, and we were so grateful for their presence and words during our special day.
Our wedding was a beautiful representation of our love for each other and our love for God while we were in the presence of our loving family, our friends, and other pastors and ministers who also have been so monumental in our lives.
Our wedding memories…
As I look back on my wedding day, there are so many wonderful memories that come flooding back to me. But there is one memory in particular that stands out as the most special. It was a moment when we both decided to honor our mothers in a unique and unforgettable way.
My husband Asher had his Godmother Scheryl Murray dedicate the song “Wind Beneath My Wings” and sang it live to his mom. It was an emotional and touching moment that brought tears to everyone’s eyes. It was clear to see the love and appreciation that Asher has for his mother, and it was a beautiful way to show her how much she means to him.
As for me, I decided to surprise my mom in front of everyone and dedicate my bouquet of roses to her. I wanted to take a moment to acknowledge and praise her for being such an incredible woman. It was a heartfelt moment that I will never forget, and I am so grateful that I was able to share it with her during one of the most beautiful moments of my life.
Our wedding day was filled with love, joy, and happiness, and we feel so blessed to have been able to share it with our loved ones. But these moments, these special moments where we took the time to honor and appreciate our mothers, will always hold a special place in our hearts. They are a reminder of the love and support that we have in our lives, and they also serve as a testament to the incredible women in our lives.
The best wedding advice we can give…
Our number one recommendation as newlyweds is to prioritize marriage counseling. We started counseling while dating, and it laid a solid foundation for our marriage. Even if you think you know everything about your partner, counseling is a great way to learn more about each other’s communication styles, different expectations, and how to navigate any potential conflicts. It’s also an opportunity to discuss the purpose and goal of marriage.
When it comes to your wedding day, remember that this day is centered around you and your partner. Don’t feel pressured to conform to other people’s expectations of how your day should be or how it should’ve gone. Come to an agreement on what truly matters to both of you and stick to it. On the day of your wedding, take a deep breath and soak it all in! The day will go by quickly, so enjoy each and every moment!
It’s also very important to be respectful and honor people, especially your bridal party and those who are in your wedding. Remember that you’ve chosen some of the best people around to help you celebrate, so treat them with love and kindness. We were fortunate enough to have such an amazing bridal party, free of all the unnecessary dramas, and have an enjoyable wedding experience, which was a result of all of these things.
As you embark on this new chapter of your life, remember to keep an open mind, and communicate with your partner. Marriage is a beautiful journey that requires effort from both partners. Be willing to continue to serve and love each other while enjoying the bliss of marriage!
