Their love story began when they first met each other on a dating app called Coffee Meets Bagel. During the height of Covid, Gregory surprised Rohannia with a romantic and touching proposal in their home.
We both cried and held each other until we could be calm again.

Quick Facts
Gift for groom’s parents: I wrote a note that detailed the things each of them have given Greg to make him the one for me. I also expressed my love for Greg. I couldn’t sleep the night before so I biked over to their villa and left it with the butler for them to read during their breakfast. My hopes were to keep it all between them and me. But my father-in-law shared a snippet of it during his reception speech. It brought us all to tears.
Ceremony entrance song: Pitbull and Ne-Yo- Time of our Lives
First dance song: Elvis Presley-Can’t help falling in love and Elephant Man- Willie Bounce
How did you meet?
We met on a dating app called Coffee Meets Bagel.
Tell us about the proposal
Greg proposed during the height of Covid 19 in 2020. He pulled out his guitar one afternoon like he normally would. Then he said, “record this one for me.” I thought nothing of it. There I am sitting across the room recording him singing Eric Clapton- Wonderful tonight. He changed the lyrics so that the description of the woman fit my features and I started to wonder if this was the moment. There is a line in the song that says, “Will you marry me tonight?” He sang that part-time and time again and I could feel my heart racing. At the end, he put the guitar down and pulled a small jewelry box from the couch cushion where he sat. I dropped the phone and started to scream. We both cried and held each other until we could be calm again.
Describe your wedding attire? What was the wedding shopping experience like for you?
I wore an ivory and white mermaid fit dress with floral appliqués throughout. The dress hunt experience was exciting but quite tiresome. I had both sides of the family come along and by the end, we all thought every dress looked great. Understandably, I hope, there was no sleep for me until I could find THE dress. One night I scrolled through the many pictures and a Berta Athens dress kept calling me. I loved the way I looked in it and I got emotional. The next morning I called the boutique and told them that was the one.
Culture
I am originally from Jamaica. Greg was very expressive about having our wedding in Jamaica and we talked about the many ways we could incorporate the culture. We did a popular native dance that spread worldwide roughly 20 years ago. We also put native rum and snacks in the guests’ welcome bags.
What is the best memory from your wedding?
My best memory would be our vows. The thunder rolled during Greg’s vows and I could feel my chest getting tight hoping that the rain would hold up. By the end of my vows to Greg, a rainbow came out in the sky. It brought a lot of emotions out of us and our guests. But then we went into the reception with a killer first dance. I think if you were to ask them, that would be a highlight and definitely memorable.
What is the best advice you can give to engaged couples?
Start planning as early as possible. Even the small things may seem big the closer you get to your special day.
