DC lovers Tiffany and Keith vowed to cherish each other until God called them home; but they did not start out that way. When the couple met, Keith was drawn to Tiffany from the moment he saw her. Tiffany, on the other hand, was uninterested in his pursuit. A little over a year had passed when their faith led them back to one another, and the rest, as they say, was history.
In honor of their beliefs, the couple intertwined their wedding with the word. “Keith and I are unashamed believers in the Christian faith. We made sure that God was a part of our ceremony with a family prayer and spoken word piece,” said Tiffany. With baby’s breath, calla lilies and gorgeous shades of green and teal adorning the ceremony/reception space, Favored by Yodit, flawlessly created an atmosphere of peace and love.

Tell us about how you met.
We met in downtown DC at a mutual friend’s birthday party. He was very interested; I was very uninterested. This worked out in our favor. After an extra 1 1/2 years of God working on us, we met again and went on our first date (I actually asked him out).
Tell us about the proposal!
Keith is very romantic! He put a lot of thought and work into making the day special for me. He told me that we were doing a couple’s photo shoot for Valentines Day. So on February, 8th 2014 I arrived at the Jefferson Hotel with my hair done, nails done, and three outfit options. Upon my arrival, Keith gave me a tour of the Presidential Suite then bent down on one knee to inform me that this was not a Valentine’s Day Shoot – instead this was our engagement photo shoot, but first we had to be engaged. He opened the box to the ring of my dreams then the man of my prayers asked me to marry him. After crying yes, I was swept away to the makeup chair (he had everything planned), where I got beautiful as I called all of my family and friends to share the good news.
Memories
The best memory from my wedding was dancing the night away with my husband and family and friends. I truly got the chance to enjoy my wedding and felt gorgeous the entire time. I also had the long awaited moment of the father-daughter dance. My relationship with my father had been estranged until my engagement to Keith. My relationship with Keith has ushered in a new chapter of reconciliation with my father – the dance was the culmination of it all.
Help a bride-to-be out!
The best advice I can give to couples is to establish a mutually agreed upon vision for the wedding before you do any shopping, wedding shows, venue visits etc. The first step should be to get on one accord with one another regarding your day. Once you are on one accord with a clear vision, you can avoid competing with the Jone’s, save a lot of money by not buying unnecessary things, avoid conflict with family, and feel equally excited about your day!
