“Black is king!”
When Beyonce gave her recent visual album this title, some people did not understand the meaning. “Black is king” means black is royal, black is regal, black is beautiful, black history and heritage are to be honored and praised.
In today’s styled shoot, a team of vendors led by MunaCoterie member Exquisite Events and Floral Design show the royalty of black love with micro-wedding decor and inspiration fit for a king and queen. Exquisite Events and Floral Design shares,
This styled shoot was put together after what seems to be a long pause in the wedding industry. A royal intimate wedding styled shoot was the perfect push for elegance and our new normal- Microweddings.

The styled shoot took place at the beautiful historical venue, Stan Mansion which seats upon the luxurious grandeur of the former masonic temple. Stan mansion offers the gilded and meticulous details of true royalty.
The styled shoot started off at the beautiful bridal suite which features a high ceiling with crystal chandelier. Part of the wedding experience is the preparation photos and there is nothing like a beautiful setup for the bride to feel beautiful and romantic while she prepares for the aisle. I used shades of pink colors to create a bed of floral arrangement on the beautiful white couch.
A custom black and gold invitation suite and emerald green menu cards from Isabella Invitations was the perfect fit for the color combination. The invitation suite was photographed along with stunning accessories from Sureina Bridal which showcases the royal tiara the model beautifully wore.
In the grand ballroom of the mansion, I picked Emerald green, a royalty color and a color that brings warmth and calmness, along with purple, red, blue, and black. Every color was purposefully chosen to create balance, passion, and harmony.
We chose a King’s table as the layout of the table with antique throne chairs befitting for a royal couple. From the tall colorful arrangements to the low centerpieces, to the gold candleholders with black candles, this design was carefully orchestrated to create elegance. The table was completed with beautiful gold/black flatware, gold-rimmed charger plates, and black and gold-rimmed glassware rented from Tablescapes Chicago. The black luxurious chairs from Ellie Rose added the regal feel we aimed for and every detail was meticulously placed to complement each other while staying in harmony.
The geode cake and green apple taffy favors complicated the entire design leaving us salivating.
This styleshoot was put together along with other like-minded African-American professionals who understood the importance of harmony, royalty, and black love.
